WHY AM I CRYING?!?!? Apparently I can't watch beautiful, sweet videos about squirrels at 3 AM!! I have always believed that animals have emotions, bonding memories and gentle souls. I usually get a lot of crap about the soul part from people where I live (big Bible belt area) but I don't care. I have had the pleasure to nurse from birth or injury, rescue and raise so many animals and have been there to escort more than my fair share across the rainbow bridge. It breaks my heart every time. Hopefully they stay away from the road, cats and dogs... and keep growing their greens! I'm sure she misses you and your snuggle time. You can bet her babies get quality snuggle time because of the tender love that you shared with her. Thanks so much for making me smile (AND cry)!

Hi Derek... and Mildred! What an awesome story. Amazing to hear you let them go and Mildred stayed. Never been too keen on squirrels... they move too fast and always thought they would bite, scratch and eventually attack me... but I came to your video because one morning I came downstairs to find a squirrel at my patio doors... it was literally trying to get into my house. Usually I leave the backdoor open in the day to let in good fresh air but luckily I did not on this occasion.. it scratched the window and jumped trying to get in.... i did wonder if it was hurt or injured... it seemed such strange behaviour considering the amount of squirrels that would pass through my garden.... I watched him or her for a while until it left, climbed up on fencing and wagged its tail quite dramatically. I thought its tail may be broken or something... seemed to hang and then completely wag like a dogs tail or go around in circular wags. I decided to look up what it meant when a squirrel wags its tail like that... and found it could mean danger something is coming to eat me or get away from my food.... didnt seem to match what I was seeing.... then i came across your video. Didnt answer my question, but didnt need to. I left some Aconite and Arnica (homeopathic remedy) in my garden for it just in case it wasnt well and was in shock and hoped it may take it if it needed to.... Thanks Derek, not afraid of them any more...won't pet them like you do but love them from a distance. Thanks for taking the time to share your love. Beautiful xx from: "BecomingMotherNature"
