I have 2 Scott Ascent releases and both are set up slightly different. I randomly switch between the 2 just to see if any problems show up in my shot process. It definitely keeps me honest.

Would using a shot trainer with a soft backwall be a good or bad thing when rotating a hinge release?

You’d probably find it easier to have a firm backwall to rotate a hinge. If you’re pulling through with a hinge you’d like a softer backwall.
