Trains à 200 km/h à Nossegem - 2/03/23

EN: Many trains passing through the curved station of Nossegem at a top speed of 200 km/h (speed allowed on this line with ETCS safety system). Nossegem is located near the airport of Zaventem and sees many Intercity trains passing as well as regional trains to Leuven and Braine le Comte.

FR: Beaucoup de trains passant par la gare de Nossegem à une vitesse maximale de 200 km/h (grâce au système de sécurité ETCS). Cette gare est située près de l’aéroport de Zaventem à Bruxelles et fait voir beaucoup de trains IC, mais aussi des trains régionaux (S) venant et allant à Louvain.

200 km/h bedoel je niet 160 km/h 😂😂 maximum snelheid op die lijn is 160 km/h tenzij ze beschikken over het nieuwe systeem dan mogen ze tot 200km/h

I’m pretty sure this isn’t 160 km/h and last time I checked it’s 200. Trains on the L36N which have ETCS (latest safety system) are allowed to reach speeds up to 200 km/h if they’re capable as you said. It even is the speed limit on this line. Another way to prove it is this: a Siemens HLE 18 Eurosprinter is 19,5 meters long. In this video, where it honked, the locomotive took around 0,35 seconds to pass. All we have to do is divide 19,5 by 0,35 which gives us 55,7 m/s. To get our answer in km/h, we multiply by 3,6 which gives us 200 km/h. Remember that this is the L36N and not the L36, where trains on that line are only limited at 130 if I remember well.
