Funny Shenfield is a suburb of brentwood yet many greater anglia trains stop in shenfield but only crossrail stops in brentwood, why is that

i mean now its impractical to switch since shenfield is better equipped to deal with the greater anglia traffic but its probably due to the fact that the line down to southend and southminster and the GEML split right after Shenfield, so it was just a more practical place to put it.
