Trains at Lancaster Railway Station | 20/05/16

A few hours at Lancaster station on Friday May 20th 2016. Quite a few bits around actually, managed to see an empty top n' tail class 57 railtour as well as the Northern class 37 loco hauled service, which instead of the usual DRS 37, it had 37402 in its original BR blue & large logo livery. Looks great! As well all the other regulars on the north end of the WCML!
INCLUDES: West Coast Railways Class 57's, Northern Loco-Hauled set with DBSO & 37402!, Virgin Pendolino's & Voyagers, Transpennie 350's & 185, Northern class 156's & 150 and a Tamper (track engineering train) passing through, heading north.
I arrived on a Virgin service from London, then joined the class 37 northern set to Preston & back before filming it depart again on its way towards Barrow In Furness and the Cumbrian coast.
Very glad I stood where I did when the 57's came through because the Pendolino in the platform, fills the entire platform, so I went right to the very top end and just managed to catch the 57's go through before the Pendo started moving. Very good timing there, thanks driver! :-P

I'm from Argentina. And I was in vacation on July 2014. I travel from London Euston to Liverpool Lime St. in a 390010 Virgin Pendolino. Great! And I was in Lancaster three days later, when we returned from Isle of Man. We travel by Northern from Heysham Port, connecting in this station with Trans Pennine Express to Edinburgh Waverley. So nice. Delicious trip!

Good vid. You should try the whole cumbrian coast on a 37. It is a recommended route to be sure especially behind a 37!

+AndreiTupolev Stations that are managed by Virgin do, yes! Not all stations served by Virgin. They're quite a good company for that sort of thing, Virgin. They like the personal touch. Hence why they are not keen on getting barriers at Euston, instead of the people on the ramp checking tickets. Because its more of a personal touch. However the Department For Transport insist on putting barriers in Euston for "safety" .

Yes it carries on to Preston & back. I joined it to Preston and back to Lancaster where I filmed it depart again.
