153's are from the splitting of 155's a drivers cab was installed to the end that didnt have one and is so small it is a squeeze to get in if you look at the ends you can see that they are different

The class 153 were built from redundent class 155, thats why one cab end is to small for some larger built drivers!

Stunning video!!! Yep, the 155's are rare but the 153's were originally part of a class 155. Most of the working diagram of the class 155's are throughout West Yorkshire, to Manchester and on few occasions, they do head to York via the Harrogate loop. The 155's are great reliable DMU's and would hate if the last few had to be converted into class 153's. If you head to stations like Bradford Interchange, Wakefield & Manchester Victoria, those stations will offer you plenty of chances to catch the class 155 units in action. In a few years time, First Transpennine Express will be making big changes to their fleet: With local hauled services with class 68's and I presume a DVT of somewhat on the workings of Liverpool to Scarborough & Newcastle services and many more. What is your opinion of the recent strike action by Northern?

Well at least I can say that I've finally managed to catch one in action. I can see the similarities between the two units now. I think its going to be brilliant when the class 68's start running their loco hauled services across the networks. In regards to the DVT I'm not completely sure if they are actually going to have any. They could very well have a 68 at either end, but time shall tell. to be honest the whole strike action taken by all the rail firms is just getting more and more out of hand now all because of the simple role of the guard. Everyone knows how important they are but the TOC's want to try and save money and have DOO trains which presents a whole list of dangers to the passengers at each and every station

i think you would enjoy a day down exeter while it may not have the buzz of the east coast it does have a good range of hst's, voyagers, 150s, pacers and the class 158/9 to look forward to :) perhaps we can make a day of it together when you plan to come down and i can meet you there :)

That 144 Pacer Train that arrived at about 8 minutes was the refurbished model of the pacer so the are demonstrating that they can have disabled access

Finally got round to watching this Leeds video. As usual you did it justice and nice to see u show contempt for that hideous looking 144. I do confess that I like the look of that XC HST but my downside is usually the fact that u have to stick your hand out of the window to find the door handle. Still u cannot gripe with the number of carriages that were put on for its long journey down to Plymouth. Or was it Penzance?

Because VTEC uses 125 and 225 sets that have always been used on the ECML, Virgin Trains West Coast use the 390 and 221 fleet. A 390 was trailed along the ECML a few years ago but nothing ever became of it. The 225 sets are soon to be withdrawn anyway as the new 800's enter service. Plans for the 225 sets include going to the GEML and running along the WCML with Alliance Rail from London Euston to Blackpool North once it has been electrified

I like to know how you manage to afford getting all over the uk and Europe to film your trainspotting it must cost you an arm and a leg anyways the reason I'm asking you this is because I do like watching you and I love to do it myself one day because I do like my transport a lot but never have the money to do what you do

There really isn't much of a nack to it in all honesty. I just save up so I know I have enough behind me to go trainspotting and still have plenty left over to do other things in my life. I also have a 16/25 railcard on me so that lowers the price of the tickets in general which also helps me
