Excellent vid. Living on the Glasgow North Electric Line I tend to take these trains for grant though the Class 67 was definitely a highlight. The MPV had probably been working on either the Helensburgh, Balloch branches or the West Highland Line and possibly stabled at what we used to call the High Bank Sidings adjacent to Dumbarton Central. Thanks David! As you know, the 318s and 320s have been on this line for decades but maybe in the not too distant future, they could be replaced with new trains. I see this video (as I do most of my videos) as a milepost in time, a slice of the present which we can look back on in the future. It just so happens that you live nearby to see it regularly and that an MPV needed a drag on this particular day. My records indicate that this specific MPV was a weedkiller train which ran from Springburn and was meant to go via Dumbarton and Newton but that didnt happen!

Busy as it seems there was obviously a problem with the North Clyde line as the first service didn't appear until 20:00 I heard Karen mention a broken down train...

The Weedkiller MPV broke down at Queen Street which ruined the service. A 67 came off Mossend Yard to collect it and eventually dragged it to Hyndland. I would have labelled this video ‘Rush Hour’ but it wasn’t really.

@@StarlifeStudios yes I remember that disruption well- the MPV spectacularly brought the North Clyde to its knees. On the North Clyde route the only thing you can do with the aftermath of such a delay and to stop it rippling out even further is to send everything that quoues behind a failure empties to Yoker depot and rebuild the service piece by piece as seen in the video with the procession of trains running empty to Yoker, sort out the traincrew there and get the units back on their diagrams on their return workings back east. Don't envy those in Control and the Signallers who have to mop up the mess after such a disruption- the phones would have been red hot that day!

I would like to go to the SWR more but I only have weekends to video at the moment and the SWR network is embroiled with engineering works which makes content difficult. I will definitely seek to do this more in the near future; Clapham is due to re-visit at some point! 😃

Does ScotRail also use Class 380 Desiro and Class 385 AT200 on that line or are they used on other routes around Glasgow and Edinburgh areas.

Class 380 are used in the West near the seaside and the 385 is used edinbrugh to glasgow mostly but none of them go on that line.
