Excellent film - but most viewers will not know which stations feature, or can only guess. Can you include in the description the locations by reference to mins and secs in the film? That is as good as having captions. How come so many Class 91 and Mk4 sets from the East Coast in the Clyde Valley? (and indeed IC125s). You sometimes have to look carefully at TPE units to/from Manchester to see if they are diesel or electric!

marc21091 the 91 and HST sets which look like they were filmed between Abington and Crawford are part of the yearly West Coast diversions due to engineering works on the East Coast. This usually happens at the weekend in September/October. Next Saturday 12-10-19 will be the last day where you'll get the last opportunity to view HST set but not the 91s. You may even get to see the brand new Azuma on the West Coast which is a rare photo op too!

Has to be central belt! The shit trains they run up to Inverness and if the snow comes down that's it we'll make no effort whatsoever to do anything for a week.

Almost all of the trains are limited to 100 mph because Network Rail set track speed limits and won't invest in faster tracks.

I admit I like the later generations of DMUs like class 170. But, MAN!! It's time we get rid of them diesel trains. Time to close the "e-gaps" . ELECTRIFY Scottish railways (COMPLETELY, PLEASE!!) !!
@timb43734 жыл бұрын
First move the majority of freight haulage from road to rail, the difference this would make is colossal. And if this involves using 50-year-old locomotives with new engines as seen here, then this is both sustainable and cost efficient. If they were to electrify the low usage rural lines at vast expense, this cost would increase track access tariffs, meaning rail freight would become even less competitive vs road haulage. So would probably be a net loss. In 20yrs time hydrogen bi-mode will probably be able to fill in these gaps anyway :)
