Sunderland is a city in the North East and is the second City along with Newcastle inside of Tyne And Wear. Sunderlands Station is one of a few stations in Britain which have both Light and Heavy Rail using the same set of platforms. This station is served by Tyne And Wear Metro between South Hylton and Newcastle Airport, and served by Northern Trains between Hexham and Middlesbrough, Nunthorpe. Also it is served by Grand Central a few times a day towards London and once a day via LNER towards London.
