I have crossed that viaduct in a train many times, but I have never seen it from this superb viewpoint. Thanks for sharing. Brilliant photography.

What struck me was its similarity to the Starrucca Viaduct in Pennsylvania, USA, both in terms of age, length and general construction. Nice to see them still active in their intended use.

I just looked up the Starrucca Viaduct there, and I see the similarities. The only main difference is that Starrucca is straight while Craigmore Viaduct is curved. Also, the scenery around the Starrucca Viaduct is absolutely breathtaking! I definitely wouldn't mind visiting that someday in the future, would make for stunning drone footage.

Yes, it’s located in a lovely area of the state. Do work it in to your schedule whenever you visit. 🤓 Out of curiosity, do you know what steam train models were used in Ireland from the 1920s through the sixties? I ask because my great grandfather, grandfather and an uncle were all engineers working out of Inchicore. I’d love to be able to give my grandchildren some idea of the types of equipment they worked on, but I’ve not been able to find any book that lists such information. Thanks and best wishes.
