Great memories of living in Barrow Hill during 1992 and watching much of the freight services featured here pass daily. Thx for sharing!

Thanks very much Keith - thought two 16 minute movies would be better than one 32 minute movie for some viewers.

Thanks very much, and for the information too. I do remember a little bit that some of the sector locos would turn up on other duties from time to time - before EWS appeared on the scene. I do have a clip in my Peak Forest upload which has a pair of 37's on those ICI hoppers not long before they finished.

A good place to be in the 1990's i'm sure :-) I used to love my odd trip up here in this era, always plenty of good stuff on offer. Thanks.

Thanks Chris. Clag was always on the cards in the 1990's I reckon! :-) It is a shame the 58's had a short life over here, but luckily for me the Midlands area was their stomping ground of course.

Fantastic second part, both parts enjoyable to watch.

A real game of two halves! More great footage, nice 56/58 action. Good Duff clag, very nice. Had a search for your Flickr site, came back not found - isn't Flickr wonderful!

Great stuff Darren. Some real classic clag displays there! The 58 sounded nice on full throttle. Shame these didn't last very long on British soil.

2nd part is equally fantastic! It was interesting to see 60058 on the RMC stone train. 60056 an 60058 were on loan to RF Construction for driver training for the Buxton stone trains and Manchester Binliners. The following year would see the 60's ousting the pairs of Buxton 37's, with just a handful of 37's left to cover the ICI limstone hoppers (which were vac-braked only wagons).

You can't really go on the logo on the side of the loco.... often they'd be painted in a RF livery, but get reallocated to a different sector a few years later. A good example would be 37049, which was painted in RF Coal, but was transfered to RF Metals a few months later. Or 37162 which was painted in Depertmental Grey but quickly moved to RF Petroleum duties out of South Wales. 56036 was the only 56 in Petroleum, but I've never even seen a photo of it on a petrol train!

I tried the 'darrenwetherall-railphotography' bit, but it didn't wanna know. I'll give the link a try. I got a few snaps under Whitacrejunction, but again doubt you'll find it!! Cheers.

I do yes, although I would rather go back to the early/late 60's, but I wouldn't be complaining at all filming in the 80's/90's era. I think I would be out even in the pouring rain if the traction was like this!

Thanks very much. 56's, 58's, and 60's - not a 66 in sight back then! Those Sulzers always good for a bit of clag, passenger and freight ones! Flickr not being so good since the recent 'upgrade', but you can find me under darrenwetherall-railphotography, or click the Flickr link on My Channel front page :-)
