323 and 324 are through trains that only go as far south as Brattleboro, VT. 611 is the turn job that takes stuff south from Brattleboro, VT to Palmer, MA. 323 and 324 used to run all the way to Palmer but don't anymore.

Its part of the plan to rebuild the Conn river line. VT received money to improve the NECR, but MA received money to rebuild the Conn river line and reallign the Vermonter there from Springfield all the way to East Northfield.

Just the 4052. I looked at the photos of the 4054, and it does have a K5LLA. I'm amazed at how many horns they have on those things!

Pretty soon Amtrak won't run through here anymore. They are realligning it to the Conn river line in a few years

On trains such as the Vermonter, one has to wonder about the economics of running two Genesis units in push-pull mode on a five car consist. If both are on line, that's probably twice the fuel consumption.
