Friend of my Grandfather worked at the CN yard in Windsor. I recall my Grandfather one day was given premission to enter the yard with me. He called up left his plate number and make of car and we were cleared. I was able to seen the turntable in full action and were even met by a older man who worked at the yard for decades who was asked to give the grand tour. Seeing the repair shed and the the train's diesel engine exposed was amazing I was able to watch them do deep repairs on one and was able too see how the the engine worked. I was even shown where they filled the old steamers when we had the CPR station at the end of Caron ave at Riverside that lasted till 1920 I think then we had 2 other stations after that then Via rail took over.. great video shows the riverfront train yard that no longer exists. Was removed in the 90s and early 2000s and several parks take it's place in effort to clean up our downtown and waterfront to attract more tourists.

I love all that great footage from Windsor, I used to stop by there and catch a few trains by the old station at the top of the hill , CP let me up on an engine and take it close to the Detroit River, good ol days

That little blue car behind the Via F40PH at Windsor is a steam heat car to give steam to the passenger cars isn't it? Rather neat to think there were steam heat cars at such a late date.
