So funny story: I used to be super dysphoric about how my body looks. I'm afab, I have no butt (my friend affectionately calls it my grandpa ass and says they love it lmao), I have wide hips despite having no butt, and also my breasts are shaped more like an overweight man's chest than "typical" afab breasts (I'm overweight lol). This, along with my alto voice, made me feel uncomfy with my body as a kid. However, since then, I've realized I'm genderfluid and commonly (not always) prefer being perceived as masculine. So then my biggest issue with my body was my pear shaped body and how my hips are wide in comparison to the rest of my body. UNTIL I was reunited with my oldest half brother who is a decade older than me. I hadn't seen him in awhile. Immediately, I realized his hips are actually the same ratio to his body as mine. That instantly made me text my other transmasc friends to tell them how cis men can have bigger hips too, and it led to a revelation for myself. So yeah, just wanted to tell my story of how I entirely erased all my dysphoria surrounding my hips by simply looking at my older brothers and realizing we look like photo copies of each other. I still occasionally have dysphoria about other things, but seeing the similarities between my body and my cis relatives' bodies definitely helps me get through it. Update for all the people who see this lol: I recently realized I'm actually a trans man, just a gender nonconforming trans man. anyways, thank you for the support, remember you're all valid

What you are describing sounds like body dismorphia. Not gender dysphoria. Also, hips are the dead give away of TIF. I hated my thighs. They were muscular and I fantasized as a child carving off my inner thighs to make them slender. Then I saw a baby picture of me at age 2 with chunky, baby thighs and I realized this was my generic lottery. How could I not love that baby who was once me with those chunky, baby legs?
@rachelcookie3213 жыл бұрын
Not trans but man I hate my big hips. Like you can change other parts of your body with surgery but for some reason you can’t make your hips smaller. I’m so jealous of people who have a straight body shape, it’s so much prettier. I’m 16, I don’t need birthing hips yet! My hips have been huge since I was like 10. Why do I even need such big hips? @Li F no, it’s the idea that other people’s struggle, that you aren’t part of, isn’t a joke. It’s the ideas that promote laughing at people who are being killed, who are being excluded from society simply for being themselves. Ironically though that’s where the male part of me ends and the rest of me defaults to female so I’ve definitely had interesting experiences with my own brain fighting over which will win on any given day as a result and it’s really rather annoying tbh because it never seems to completely make up its mind sometimes, hahaha.

"Day of Silence" is celebrated in the United States on the second Friday in April since 1996. A student-orientated day to end the silencing effect of anti-LGBT bias. Initially created by then-student Maria Pulzetti, the first event was organized by students at University of Virginia in 1996. It is currently organized by GLSEN. In 1997, one year after the day's creation, it went national, with over 100 institutions participating. Whilst there has been some participation from other countries, including New Zealand and Singapore, as of 2021 it is still categorized as a "national student-led demonstration".

I can understand the argument in the case of an edgy comedian that dunks on everybody and does one transphobic joke. OK, it's a joke, I can not like it and move on. But it's usually not that. Then discovered you are actually trans as i got bombarded with your other videos in the youtube recommendations. That may sound stupid to some people that are into that topic ot lgbtq for a long time but my reaction when i found out you are trans i was like ''wtf no way I couldn't tell at all'' which probably is the first thought process of anyone knowing nothing about lgbtq. Because of that you got me interested and i watched a bunch of videos from you. Although your content I mostly comedy I think I understand the lgbtq community a bit more now thanks to you. In the past i actually was rather avoiding it and thought negatively about it but now i don't care anymore to differentiate between lgbtg and straight people. I'm at the stage of considering nesting 3 names within the name of a fictional character that I really identified with as a teenager (Lirael = Lily Raven Alexandra), and using that as my middle name and having a different fictional character as my official first name. My logic is: if I have the power to change my name to whatever I want, then I may as well go ham with it. I'm going by Lily for now and will probably keep that as my everyday name, as it's my mum's favourite flower and also a subtle fuck you reference to JK Rowling and my original name, but I'm not sure I want it as my FIRST name. Also my surname begins with an L and I'm not sure I'm down with having my initials as LL/LRAL. @@epicstare99 I heard something about it, but I don't know well how it works on USA, I'm from Brazil. I'm a Law student and I did my research, I'm 100% sure I have the same rights of trans men and women in order to change my name. Law here says I can change name OR gender (only if it's male or female yet) OR both in a "simple" way. It's a more complicated process to change my gender to nb, but it's possible too, it's in my plans anyway. I just want to be free from my deadname as soon as possible, but transphobia created this obstacle... I don't think you should give up even if you can't come out by now. You still can be happy without hiding your identity. It's hard sometimes, but it's worth a lot!

It’s different for cis people and trans people?
@laiclaro91003 жыл бұрын
@@rachelcookie321 yes, because you gotta have a reason to get your name changed. Trans people can change it without a more complicated process since 2018 here because that's the exactly the reason a trans person want their name changed. Since a lot of trans people proved how deadname is harmful, there's no need to do it again. If a cis person wants a name change, they must explain their reason to the judge through a different process, proving they need a new name. Non-binary people are not considered trans people by everyone yet so... (I hope my explanation is clear, English is no my first language)

For the name alignment chart, I’m kinda a mix of all the upper left corner ones (LG, NG, LN, TN). lol My preferred name is Rel. It’s a nickname I made up, by taking the first and last parts of my birth name (which I still use in formal situations, since legally changing my name sounds too daunting to tackle atm). But I also looked it up, and it’s an actual name as well that’s just kind of uncommon. So my name is Ciscore because it’s a real baby name, and isn’t too out there. It’s also kind of a name I made up, because I thought of the name first, before checking if it was already a name or not. It’s also an irl nickname, and I’ve also, technically, still kept my birth name, but I just use the shortened version most of the time. 😅

I’m a trans FTM, I usually get deadnamed at school by other students, but the school I go to supports LGBTQ+, so I usually just tell a teacher and they’ll do something

Put in a complaint. They are there to teach you, not pass judgement on your life choices. Or do a review online - at least then others will know they are a bigot. Sorry that happened to you, big hugs 🖤❤️

@@HeavyMetalMomma awe thank you so much. Unfortunately I can't do that cause I'm not out and his insults were general about how society is going to shits because of trans people and how gender is ruining the language and too much of a bother, etc. I'm usually with a different guy so it's ok. For the names, I'm chaotic good (Amias (Latin, loved one), Mori (Latin, death), Wolfgang (German, traveling wolf)), I'm lawful evil (Morticia (from The Adams Family), Amphitryon (name of Hercules' adoptive mortal father), and I think Amias and Mori also count in here bc they were the names of my OCs before they were my names) and I'm also Chaotic evil (Eros). And I think Mori might even count for Neutral Evil in a way because it's a verb in Latin meaning. I also had top surgery today! I'm very happy that Jamie posted another trans positivity video on one of the most important days of my life! Today, I wish all fellow transes* in the comments that your desired outcomes of transition will either happen or come closer to being achieved in 2022!
