Sad to see them go, 450 and 454 have already been delivered to Metra. However, they will always be remembered in the history of Amtrak and in our hearts.

Great video man!!!!! It's very sad to see these locomotives go, I really love the F59s on Amtrak, why can't they stay longer in service so that we all can continue to enjoy them while they last especially their K5LA horns with how many times each of them have been overhauled with new horns and everything else especially 450 being overhauled I think 4 times I believe but yes and that great sound of the locomotive's motor or engine you know......But still I like it this also shows how the same type of horn in this case the K5LA can sound very different on different locomotives.....

But they're not as old as the Genesis locomotives and I'm sure they could do their best to rebuild them for emissions standards which I'm sure isn't easy but also because we don't have a secure amount of the newer chargers to replace them really, and the fact that the F59s are mostly on Intercity service and don't breakdown as much as the P42s since they are mostly on the long-distance service, plus it's really cool, aerodynamic, and almost as reliable but not as much as the F40PH was so for that fact I don't want them to leave on the Pacific Surfliner...... +Los Angeles Rail Productions

They aren't finished on the rails just yet, METRA based out of Chicago purchased all of the Surfliner and Cascades F59PHIs, so they can retire their oldest F40s. Good news is that Caltrans isn't entirely replacing its F59 fleet, however their use will be more limited when all the Chargers are finished.
