its like you made this video for me personally! About 12 years ago, I ran regularly, completing multiple half marathons and one full. I,m just getting back into it after those years filled with partying and letting my health status degrade. Ive been discouraged lately while training because my legs get tired after 30 minutes, but I've have had glimpses of hope that I can get back there. Your "less more often" philosophy really resonated with me, and its what I needed to hear. thanks a bunch man

Earlier this year I got hit with achilles tendonitis and when I finally got to where I could start running again I slowly worked up to doing 3 miles every weekday, holding it for a few weeks, then to 4 miles every weekday and held it again for a few weeks. After that I was able to start building up a long run and I've never felt better. Those super consistent small runs make a world of difference. Glad to see you making videos again!

Coach, love this video. I’ve been on a running hiatus for years…not sure why either. I’m 55 and lost 60 lbs over the pandemic and now I miss running. I’ve had to work on over striding, foot strike etc all over. Seeing good progress and trying to remain consistent, but dealing with some calf soreness and knee pain. Think it’s a combo of changing my foot strike (back to fore foot) and just old 😂. I will keep pushing, and have my first race in years coming up on Sat. Thanks again for the years and years of quality content

so true about how a positive comment from someone can make one's day. I was out there running this morning and a mountain biker made some comment to me, something akin to I was doing an awesome job, had trail brain so not quite sure of his exact words but it really felt good to hear!

Great video! And great song in the intro. I can sometimes get stuck, because I feel I need to run for a long distance, when I don't have time, so I end up not going at all. Doing something, even if shorter, more often, is totally better, developing consistency. Will have to remember this, and take action, today =)

I'm actually doing my first race. A half marathon. At the end of this month! My first ever. I've been dealing with a bit of Achilles pain. It is getting better. Going to be resting up for 2 weeks. As I'm actually going on holiday to Mexico. 3 days after my finish. So I will be dealing with some of this. When I get back.

I’m not a coach. But anyways if I ever have to take a break from running. I focus on other stuff in my training. Diet sleep mental health stretching. Read a book. Just stay positive take the time you need and then your ready to get back into it. I’ve seen a lot of people go so far off the deep end it’s to hard for them to get back into it. If that makes any sense 🤷‍♂️

Your videos made me a WAY better runner and helped me understand many aspects of running mechanics. 2nd, please don't read the comments, most people who comment are in a bad place. But I can't imagine you getting negative comments that are well deserved, you're always positive and give so much useful info. Keep 'em coming, sir! Thanks!

Hi Eric, appreciate the video and what you put out there about the ethos of running, it's definitely changed my perspective for the better and I look forward to being able to pass it on to others. Have just finished BTR2 and The Cool Impossible and I'm itching to get back into training but currently have a problem I can't seem to sort out. I'm not sure if you still take questions but I'll shoot in case you do: have had a flare up of pain in the area above and around the back of both ankles (peroneal tendonitis I believe) and I was wondering, in your experience, is there an area of the body I should be working on strengthening in order to ensure these tendons aren't overworking? Or anything else you'd recommend? I've been told a bunch of different things about the causes and it's one of those ones where I'm still in the dark about what's even caused the issue. Appreciate that specifics might be tricky when you're just responding to a comment on the internet (lol) but anything you could generally recommend would be much appreciated :-) love from Australia!

Great to hear from you again coach. I was wondering if you would be open to coaching someone like me that has UTMB as a goal one day , but my main goal is to work on running with 0 niggles ( more than 1 year of having muscle tightness/pain around right knee, inner knee, outer knee/IT ) , I am extremely flexible and assume it is either some muscle imbalance or some running form issue or both affecting eachother. physiotherapy has not helped too much (hip abduction exercices, bulgarian split squats, crab walks etc.) I just love to run and want to be able to get that good feel when I run. I want to work with you for up to a year and do a 100k race next spring/summer. I have read cool impossible and born to run 1&2 and own your custom slant board :) should I just email with all additional details or should I book a consult first ? 3:34 marathon last may, I have a 50k ultra jn september. been only running since 2023. Thank you !
