I get what you mean but the definition of a man shouldn't be to simply be able to bear the weight of the world. We are all human, and whilst I agree sacrifice is definitely necessary to achieve what you want, I think it's really a give and take. I.e., no man should have to sacrifice or the bear everything just to be called a 'real man'.

Exactly what worldly weight has he lifted on his shoulders? Running an ultramarathon is a very personal pursuit, not something which solves any problems for rest of the world.

Completely agree Brother, it's in those times that you truly find out who you are. How your inner voice talks to you. Does it beg you to stop or push you on? The things that come through your mind and the feelings that sweep your body cannot be replicated anywhere else. It's a shame that most people don't go to that place in their body and mind. Thanks for watching Brother 💪🏽💪🏽

When he said “I’m a 190 pound man” that puts it in perspective. To run that time for badwater period is crazy, but to do it with a frame that size at 190 pounds is incredible. The difference between 150 or 160 pounds over that distance compared to 190 pounds is huge. His vo2 max must be off the charts

@VitorAbreu1001
@VitorAbreu1001 Жыл бұрын
@@wisdomibokette As David is my idol, I heard him say that and you made a good point. I have an opinion on that subject. I totally agree that he wasn't special at his "starting point". Who he is now, took a long and really harsh road. Most people would just quit, but he endured and embraced the pain to make himself better. My point why he is special is because besides having a difficult life, he never quit. He developed his skills beyond the world-class level (leadership, mentality, emotional intelligence, etc.). and all of this was HIS WORK! Not given by god, or any luck having a good starting point or skills. For me, that's what makes him special and what I admire about him! And gives me the strength to endure and get the best version of myself possible! As for me saying that he is special doesn't make me soft or it's an excuse for not seeking for being the best version of myself possible. It makes me wanna give my best all the time and even though I'm still *****, he makes me believe that I can follow his steps and achieve my potential! Thank you for your comment! "Stay hard" brother! 💪
