Joan, I am 68 years old and 25 pounds overweight along with being depressed and I have lost my joy. Best wishes, thoughts, and prayers Denise. I’m taking care of my 86 year old mom right now and trying to get her built back up. She wasn’t eating or drinking enough and spent the last week in the hospital, severely dehydrated. She’s a horse farmer but has lost virtually all her muscle tone. I’ve got her diet back on track with steel cut oats or eggs in the morning, awesome salad with lots of goodies for lunch, and protein packed soups & stews for dinner. And of course grilling some great proteins because it’s summer! You can do this. Treat yourself with kindness. Treat yourself with the same care you’d treat your best friend.

@@DiodeMom Thank you so much for your lovely response. I am 70.5 now and not much has changed for me. I tried to do keto and eat lots more protein but the fact that my movement is limited due to spinal stenosis it is really hard to burn lots of calories. I do go to the pool for a half hour 3 to 4 times a week and I move my legs but it's not easy for me. You sound like such a wonderful person and your mother is lucky to have you. I only wish that my husband was more joyful to be around....I believe that we pick up the mojo of others and negativity has a bad influence on us. Thank you again for contacting me and I sure do hope that Joan is still going strong!

@@deniselebeau9874 first of all I’m sorry you’re going through tough times. Spinal stenosis is more debilitating than most people realize. And yes, being around negative people doesn’t help with healing and motivation. I don’t know your beliefs but mom & I have found so much comfort in life through Jesus. I went through a divorce 5 years ago and I would have taken much longer to heal without God. Jesus is the great healer! However you find comfort- whether through friends or church or just a group of ladies with your same medical issue, try to be with other people besides your husband as much as you can. Keto is difficult for some. You have to stick with it for a full month before you start feeling ok without the sugar and other unnecessary stuff. You really do feel sick at first! (At least I did!) We don’t do keto around here lol. We just eat healthy fresh food (stay away from the interior of the grocery store 😂) but we do treat ourselves with a couple bites of ice cream now & then because we are both sugar junkies- it’s just that we recognize that now lol. Instead of sweets I try to keep fresh cut fruit and berries. We mix that with Greek yogurt and healthy granola when we feel a sugar craving coming on. Joan is also an idol of mine. I just turned 60, and when I get my mom back up to speed I want to start getting some weights and lifting with her. We may not get as cut as she is but we will die trying haha. There are good exercises you can do right in your chair with ankle and wrist weights- you can buy them online anywhere. Be blessed my friend. ❤️

That is just what I would aspire to now I'm older (60) - a look that is natural and which looks like less (even if it involves more steps than I used to use). It was very difficult to see the results on Joans face because of the lighting and the way the video was shot mostly from the sides and she was out of focus at times she looked very washed out also before and after would have been helpful- I am a fan and I’m very inspired by Joans journey I am also in television production so hopefully my comments will be helpful for future videos
