The White Scars weren’t the only Legion whose loyalty to their Primarch overrode their loyalty to the Emperor, but they’re the only one in which such a loyalty actually kept them on the side of the Imperium. If any of the other loyalist Primarchs sided with Horus, they would have to deal with a very large amount, if not a majority of, their Legions who stayed loyal to the Imperium. But the White Scars were probably the most unified (at least in loyalty to their Primarch) Loyalist Legion during the Crusade.

You forgot to mention the Lunar Wolves were closest legion to the Scars. Pretty much the only legion who liked the Scars. Goes a long way to explaining why so many of them sided with Horus without extra context.

There's also that one named traitor space wolf who i'm pretty sure died since an aircraft crashed on him. His reason for turning traitor was something a long the lines of "I do the emperor's work and he remains silent, but I do the work of chaos and they reward me for my efforts."

There was at least one noteworthy Iron Hands traitor from the Horus Heresy, much like the two examples from the Raven Guard. Oresk Torgoll was an Iron Hands survivor of the Drop Site Massacre but was captured by the World Eaters and had the Butcher's Nails implanted. He then began to hate both his Primarch and original legion for abandoning him to this fate, and he now has joined the World Eaters and is an active Chaos Lord for his new legion.

It was an Imperial fist Successor and an Iron Warriors Warband. They agreed to fight together then just go in opposite directions and both wanted to but some Imperial Space Marines said 'no you have to kill them, or be traitor yourself'. Not wanting to break their word since the Iron Warriors weren't breaking theirs they joined them.

I was just thinking about the 2 lost primarchs. What if they were killed by the emperor because they bested him in whatever contest they had for their loyalty? Like vulcan, and leman those primarchs challenged the emperor to something or other, but they won. Would the emperor honor his word or just commence orbital bombardment, glassing the whole planet? That might also explain number 11 in the black cells. A primarch so powerful that not only did he defeat the emperor, but he survived the total annihilation of his world. Given how powerful chaos horus was, (or black rage sanguinious if you wanna have that theory) it's entirely plausible.

Pretty sure i read somewhere of Imperial Fists learning of Horus' betrayal and one debating Horus' martial prowess and maybe he has a point citing that the base humans are taking a leading role ahead of the astartes. Sigismund challenges the Fist to a duel and actually kills him as i recall, but i don't know if my brain is misfiring or if it's been retconned.

Dark Wolves caught my interest and were my primary interest, as I knew of no Space Wolves going traitor during the Heresy, but I've also not read all the books yet. Either way after looking them up there is next to nothing about them. It did bring up a thought though. Maybe a video focusing on each loyalist legion and what drives them, generally speaking, to turn traitor. For example the Wolves are an interesting blend, by character a clear choice. Yet the Emperor had faith in them (or Russ more specifically) and had a greater hand in dictating their fate than most other legions. After all it's by the Emperor's Decree Fenris stayed a tribal death world. The tectonic instability and irregular orbit causing seasonal hell were fixable at the time of Russ' discovery.

Worth noting that many of the Renegade chapters were originally loyalist, but disagreed in some manner with imperial doctrine. Many of those would later be corrupted to chaos, such as the Brazen Beasts, Flawless Host, The Scourged, and The Purge.

If this list is just from the Horus heresy I agree but if it's from the total lore then you missed quite a few, the Raven guard (who's name escapes me) that ran with Warsmith Honsou, the Ultramarine successor chapter named the Avenging Sons, the Blood Angel scout who fell to Slaanesh in the bloodquest graphic novels and many others. Not forgetting Huron Blackheart either 😉 Good stuff none the less 👍

This video is specifically about the Horus Heresy since it is regarding traitors from loyal Legions. Any Space Marines that went traitor after the Heresy would have been from Space Marine Chapters, either whole Space Marine Chapters such as the Astral Claws (Red Corsairs) and Crimson Sabers (Crimson Slaughter), a company or smaller unit such as Adharon's Reavers (former Sons of Guilliman) and Red Wolves (Space Wolves that joined the Red Corsairs), or individual Space Marines becoming traitors such as Oneius Prayd (former Red Scorpion captain who joined the Red Corsairs), Haxan the Defiler (former Crimson Fist captain who also joined the Red Corsairs), and Ardaric Vaanes (former Raven Guard captain who joined the Red Corsairs before then later joined Warsmith Honsou).

Been too long since I read it so I can’t remember names but not only was there traitors but also infighting showing the salamanders are not above the other legions misfortunes with chaos and jealousy.
