Traitor || Third Life/Desertduo Animatic

I think I started this about...two months ago now? It's been a bit of an adventure because I've been learning a bunch of new programs. Things also haven't really been going smoothly since my wacom's dying.
This was a very different process to how I normally work so be gentle with me lol. What do you think?

in this video i draw minecraft youtubers that aren't dream, tommyinnit, technoblade or philza minecraft. i draw grian in my own angsty way being angsty in the life series with scar goodtimeswithscar mr goodtimes ooo edgy edgy angst. ooo they're so sad the kill eachother oooo angst.

I love that his primaries are clipped, so even though his wings are unbound, he can't fly, nor can he save himself when he jumps at the end. Such a great detail!

The feathers cut are actually his secondary feathers, this kind of cut on a bird is called a showmans cut I believe. The thing about this kind of clipping is that the bird can still fly because their primary feathers help them with lift it just means that when the bird tries to fly it would crash into the ground instead of going anywhere.

A few details I'd like to point out - Bdubs has his clock on him 0:15 - Scar's heart is yellow while Grian's heart later on is green 0:48 - This freaking silhouette man, it's so goooood 1:32 - The shade of the leaves 1:36 - Grian's wings are clipped 1:45 (also grian with basically a halter-top lmao) - Grian's eyes being purple for watchers HGILARHIWEGA /pos 1:58 - The contrast between scar's flowers and Grian's sword UGH IM DECEASED 2:42 -Also the flashes between colored scenes and the lineart dance scenes is so gooooood 2:49 - THE TRANSITIONS GOSHDANG 3:50 (Also grian has a blackeye) - Grian with tears in his eyes 4:00 - Scar's heart disappearing and Grian's heart turning grey 4:08 - The quiet roar of what I can only assume is the wind and Grian dropping with his wings closed i aM UNWELL 4:38 Anyways great animatic, why must you try and make me cry, have a wonderful day

My jaw is dropped, hands on my head, speechless. I mean that genuinely, I was actually staring at the black screen after the video was over in shock and awe. I knew this animatic would be good but... damn... I've known the desert duo's story and how it ends for years, but fan artists always find a way to retell it and make it epic and hurt all over again. You are no exception. 5 stars, 10/10 animatic (I also love how the animatic kept switching from color to sketchy, black and white drawn scenes. Very nice touch!)

The dancing sections were so good, even if they were rough sketches! Amazing stuff! And oddly enough one of my fav visuals became Grian chocking out Scar while his wings flare out. Cause yours is great and I have seen it so many times and it never gets old! It's just a great visual composition!

GOSHH.. THIS IS SO AMAZING?? the animation of the hearts on the beats made my heart STOP.. and at the end when one of them is gone and the other turns white?? I love this. I love how fluid the characters’ motions are, and I especially ADORE how in sync the mouth movements are with the song. It genuinely looks like they’re saying the words. I loved the fight scene, the dancing scene, the scene where they hugged. I love the detail of Grian’s wings being clipped, and the emotions have been portrayed so well. Scar holding the flowers was heartbreaking. The death scene is. tragic. Also I really like the song choice. The extra violin and like pauses and also the little soundbites of their voices are just AAAA thank you for creating this masterpiece. :] (ps. you sound like joel in the description lol. and also i don’t particularly like apples :) ANGST)

I do in fact like apples. But only the perfectly crispy kind Ohhh! I realized partway through that Grian’s flight feathers specifically are clipped and I felt like I was going to lose my mind at the detail because that’s so Good! Love the angst love the art! Love the way the dance and the fight scenes are in the same style in a beautiful thematic parallel. I will be obsessed with this for the next little while. Gonna rewatch it several times and rotate it in my mind when I can’t watch Bravo! 😁

This is INCREDIBLE!! One of the best Life Series animations I’ve ever seen (and I’ve seen loads). You should be SO PROUD of what you’ve created - it’s amazing! I love the fact too that the primary scenes are coloured to show more emphasis on them but that the animation in sketch form is so fluid and unique too, it makes every frame so impressive and important to the story!!
