I met him again at two Memphis Film Festivals in 2011 and 2012, at his 80th birthday in Toledo and 10 days later at Doug McClure's induction into the Hall of Great Western Performers in Oklahoma City in 2014.

Oh, this was perfect! These two...there was never another pair like them. Flawless editing. The two scenes when The Virginian was pulling Trampas up off the ground; two different times but perfect flow from one to the other. When I’m having emotions right at the surface, needing to be released these two “friends” videos is where I’ll come. And I’ll cleanse my soul, cry to my heart’s content. Thank you again. 🥰

NIc Fewer /. This was Beautiful! I have Prime/Starz, so I can watch The Virginian, anytime, anywhere. It’s kinda like my “comfort food”. I only wish I could have seen James Drury before he passed. I’ll be 64 in about 3 weeks and that would have made my birthday! I usually watch at least one episode of The Virginian every night. My favorite one: Felisa’s Spring. My brother and I are best friends. I dont know how. We grew up hating each other, but we were still forced to work together on the farm. He broke some of my bones and there were more than a handful of times our arguments ended up in an all out brawl. My grandfather some how kept us together though and now as life has changed so much for the both of us, when I look around I see all my other friends never stuck with me like he did. I am as confident that the sun will come up tomorrow as I am we will always be best friends. We still think about everything differently but we some how use that to our advantage. There is nothing we cant do together.

Lydia McGuire, I’ve done one video of Jess with some other cowboys like Nick Barkley, Trampas, Little Joe, Chad Cooper in a video that’s called Cowboy Casanova. And I got the clips off of KZbin from other videos of him. The reason I don’t do any videos of him is because I don’t really have any access to remastered DVDs of Laramie. (The seasons I have are blurry and such). I would love to make them because I love Slim and Jess but I don’t think I would do them justice with the quality of the film.
