Thanks for the update, tramp looks great, it might be helpful to include the net material, trade name and a supplier in your description

Can you do an in depth video of how you built the carbon fiber rudder stock? That’s how I originally found your channel. That is, my need to do some carbon fiber on my sailboat.
@youngbarnacles Жыл бұрын
The carbon stock was made by C-Tech in New Zealand. Making carbon tube can be tricky and there are various ways to approach it. It is a topic we will probably touch on at some stage. www.sailbattens.com/home

Thanks team I was wondering how it was holding up. Are you planning on doing dyneema on your rigging at some stage?
@youngbarnacles2 жыл бұрын
Yeah net is awesome. Rigging will be carbon but at this stage the existing stuff has plenty of life left in it.

Hi Shayne. It looks great. Going to have a go on my boat. Is the perimeter rope joined/fastened/tensioned longitudinally, or mainly to increase the radius of the lashing?
@youngbarnacles2 жыл бұрын
It creates a perimeter for the net to hold on to as the rope is woven through the net. The rope is around the perimeter but the end are not joined they overlap. Hope that helps

It sure does. Thank you

Brilliant! I made the mistake of using ferrari cloth on my Pescott cat and we tore them off beating to windward in 40 knots. You get what you pay for... I presume that's knotless dyneema?

😳 that would have been an interesting day Yep knotless dyneema more deets on our website youngbarnacles.com/boat-systems/

@@youngbarnacles Oh yes, interesting is a good description. I was not letting anyone go forward so we watched the waves tear tramps slowly off from the safety of the cockpit... thankfully it was only a 2 hour trip up the coast
