Vocaloid is a Japanese computer program which allows you to make your own songs using one of the voices available, and they all have names, the original ones being Hatsune Miku, Kagamine Rin and Len, Kaito and Meiko. They all have their own music and stuff, check some of it out, it's awesome, just be warned they sound robotic (obviously) but some of it's pretty catchy ^^

Vocaloid is actually a Japanese computer program thing in which you can make music using one of the Vocaloids, Hatsune Miku being one of them. You could probably find a better explanation somewhere else though... it works better in Japanese so most of the songs are in that language. Personally I like them, so I recommend checking them out.

a vocaloid would be a computer generated voice and music piece, the one in the picture would be miku hatsune. she has become the unofficial symbol for vocaloids. if you are interested in listening to them stick with the japanese ones because they are not made for english.
