I'm working on an XL16 i now and the three wires were pulled out of the plug. And they are not color coded on the schematic. Watching your video there is a brief shot of the plug with wires in them. Now I can see what order the colors go into the plug. Thanks for the upload!

I had to change a few of those too, Trane actually sent out a TSB on those. Mine were the 4TWX60's which are the exact unit as the 4TWX80...

We've been having a lot of issues with those suction pressure transducers as well. (I work for a Trane dealer in Sanford, NC) We've had most of our issues with them on the 4TWX60 (XL16i) models, as we don't install many of the 4TWX80 model units.

the 16i does seem to have more issues with this than the 18 and 20's +84randomdude

Cool video Stephen. I wonder if they will ever use the transducers the use in the commercial equipment. They are bullet proof.

That 18 I trane has a recall kit for a emi interference transducer fix.. Trane put out a service bulletin

Steven those transducers suck whale squeeze. They got their start in transport refrigeration, along with the micro channel coil which we all know are not very dependable. Transducers also have a bad failure rate. I used to work at Carrier Transicold, and got these transducers in by the box full every week. Now they may have got a little better when Carrier introduced the 3 wire transducer. Keep an eye on any of the new ones like this one you come across, because I see problems. Great that you got this video out.

They need to buy the suction transducers that Heatcraft use on their Beacon II refrigeration control systems. I bought one several years ago to keep as truck stock and have never had to use it. Their EEVs are the same, never a problem.

I've changed so many of those, I've lost count. Usually it will be constantly going out on low pressure. Like every 15-30 seconds. There's a bit of confusion as to where you actually check the voltage with your second lead. Trane did a crappy job in the instructions on that.
@StephenRardon8 жыл бұрын
seemed pretty clear to me +sad hvacman but maybe i had tech support on the phone when i first had to check one. Interesting tid bit on this is that the other unit, right beside this one, had the same issue earlier in the season..
@sadhvacman72388 жыл бұрын
It's supposedly an electromagnetic interference problem. We've had units that have had transducers replaced more than once, before Trane issued the emi grounding kit bulletin. If you look at the service facts it clearly shows the + voltage test point but doesn't tell you where to put your other lead.

do you have to take all the 410 out to change the part ?
@StephenRardon8 жыл бұрын
No, there is a schrader under the fitting to the transducer
