great video jim. sometimes I use the Danfoss compressors for the train units. they are a little cheaper and fit right in.

Thanks for video. Never thought of cooling a motor winding with liquid refrigerant . I run into old ener-con heatpumps that get low on gas and I have to get to work until a new one is installed. I get ice from a machine and fill a towel or bag to cool the compressor and I have to wait for the compressor to cool to add gas and sometime the melting ice causes a mess.

Curious? I've installed the same Copeland compressors, and I've replaced Trane compressors. They have different mounting bolt patterns; the last Trane I did only had three holes. How did you mount the compressor? Lag bolts? Thanks.

Hello, I have the compressor COM08672. I think that's the same as there. Can you please tell me how much oil has to be in the compressor? During disassembly I spilled something. Where do you get the gaskets for the two connections? Many thanks!

Nice job. Here in Miami they only allow 2 hrs for a job such as urs. Bout 1200 to 1400 dll to do it,,,,figure that. Using a millenium comp as cheap as posible.....get it

Jim I have been following your videos for a while and I really like the approach you have to every sv call you respond to. I also like how completely you do your start ups and repairs. I have several questions, however, I know this is probably not the medium to do so. However, besides all the questions I have one keeps bugging me. it's a turbo tourch on an acytelene tank, it syphons air for oxygen. been using them since the 70s, thanks.

How Much Time did it take for you to do the job When you take the condensor

+hvachookup 5 1/2 hrs , take the panels off, a couple screws, cut the compressor discharge line, cut the liquid line, and lift the condenser, 10 - 15 min , it was easier than lifting that heavy compressor up and reaching down and brazing in tight spaces, thanks

hard on your back to lift them out rather than disassemble. makes you old quick to lift them out,for decades have used other compressors to replace the trane\Ge compressors...Glad to see someone do a video about this

Hi, I have a trane( r-22) 3.7 ton cool system, I plan to replace with a 4 ton (r-410a) trane compressor, I called a guy to estimate the cost, he told me the 2 compressors use different refrigerant, so I have to replace the condenser and coil too, is that right?
