thanks for the tip on the filter, haha, ours was just getting hot from the filter being too clogged but the ac ran fine through it just a few weeks ago, ahhhh well, its working!

My Trane XL80 furnace is not working. Ignition turns on and then off. Also, sometimes the fan will not turn off even after it is turned off with the thermostat. Have to manually turn it off. What could be the issue?

One of the hi-limit switches got activated due to the filter being clogged. That causes the fan to continuously run to try and cool it down.

Nothing works on my Trane XL80. The filter door switch is totally limp. Should it be? I’ll jump the switch tomorrow. Too tired now.

I use a small needle to clean the gas tubes everything works fine after that.

so my trane xe 80 decided to just not work one night. Basically just fan all the time without stopping. I checked and it flashed 6 times and that indicated a 115 volt ac power reversed improper ground. so I got a new board and a tech came and installed it. Actually he told me it was the problem most likely. the back was dark brown. so the new board icm2812 was installed and a new ignitor and the same problem of just fan continuously. this time 1 flash which is ignition failure. he was stumped and got paid and left. I just took off the burners and cleaned them to see if that helped but no lol. anything i can check before i install wall heaters? I wish i was made of money and can afford a new tech or another furnace but I cant. I've done wall heaters so i can convert but would like to get this running again.

I think the Hi-limit blew causing the fan to continually run in order to cool it down. I think if you can replace the hi-limit it will heat again.

Funny thing is i ran my multi tester all over and i notices no continuity on that. i will try that and post if that helps. thanks @@QuickAndEasy5MinuteAppliance
