Thank you Paul. Excellent review. Recently cut myself assembling an imitation of the triangle. I don't know why I didn't find this earlier. Love my Trangia kit.

You are making me hungry for some roasted chicken, Paul. Great little stand for the Trangia burner and gas attachment. I have a similar set up that I will be using this weekend. Love your Woodland Kitchen series, keep posting those great cooking videos on this fantastic channel.

Good review Paul. I've always got my Triangle when i go out.It's a good back-up too for when you maybe can't get any decent dry wood to cook on.Excellent compact bit of kit when you're wanting to travel light also.Said it before,i love all the Trangia stuff.This Triangle is a little fiddly when you first get it but then it becomes second nature to put together. Atb.Andy.

Love trangias, especially for multi day camp. No moving parts, absolutely nothing to go wrong. Do you use a windshield with the traingle at all?

The older trangia gas adapters won’t fit because the pipe underneath is to long. You will have to buy the newer one which has been modified to fit the triangle.

Paul, I just looked this up for the price & it was almost $50. on Amazon. I don't know how Trangia can justify such as high price. I have the stainless Swedish Army mess kit which is very handy & robust & I can put a small cast iron skillet on top & cook bacon/steaks or whatever will fit.

They’re ridiculously expensive over here in the USA. Most of them are shipped from the UK. $35-$50 without a burner for essentially three bits of stainless steel and a wire ring?! There’s a great pot stand that I use called a mojo pot stand available every now and again on eBay by a seller named lweaver. It’s a great improvement over the Liberty mountain and now olicamp westwind. How easy is it to operate the simmer ring with that setup? I’ve also found a simple stainless steel triangle setup from China on Amazon. I pair it with one of those nine plate windscreens. I like your idea to pair one of these triangle contraptions with a full Trangia setup as a second burner option when both the gas and alcohol burner are present. It’s versatile to be able to use the larger system as the ‘main’ burner preparing the meal whilst the alcohol burner can boil water in the kettle for hot drinks.

Sorry i missed this comment at the time you posted it. The simmer ring doesn't work to well as there isn't much space for it to open properly. Having both setups is the way to go for sure, brewing up is important, it can be very annoying when you are using the main system for cooking and can't get that hot drink you need. I carry two triangles so i can boil veg or rice while cooking and making hot drinks. My brother is in charge of the brew when he comes out :)

I like the Bushbox Ultralight way more. Even lighter, same general design, but also a capable twig stove! And only 5€ more. But there is nothing wrong with this thing!

I really like this Paul...i will buy one ! I think if i do though i will be eventually using less and less of my full Trangia 27. .The 27 is more stable and sheltered when cooking ..BUT!...i really like this for less weight and space on my bike and it is an easy set up for convenience Great review...i will probably take both and use both...thats me again!.

Useful video Paul. In the process of buying a lightweight stove and this looks ideal. Don't want something that just boils water such as Jetboils. Do you know or have any experience of the Ridgemonkey Connect? It's a small version of the double sided pan you have and now comes with removable handles and the two sides come apart to give two frying pans. It also comes with some small plastic utensils. This along with a gas insert and triangle would seem a compact option. Just wondered have you ever used the gas bottle connector adapters which means you can use the cheaper gas canisters (CP250s)? Also does the triangle scorch the surface below?Noticed you had it on a wooden table at one point. Would you need a windshield for this also. I don't have any of these products yet so looking for advice. Thanks

Hi Susiebla27, The trangia spirit burner won't scorch the surface as it's raised above it, in the triangle. I have the gas adapter for refilling my cans from the CP250 Butane canisters, i prefer to carry the small stubby gas cans. The Ridgemonkey pan i have not used but friends swear by them. I find them a bit small for me as i cook for more than one usually. Windshield is important with the triangle as the pan sits above the triangle and wind does affect the performance and fuel used. Be aware that butane doesn't work very well under 4 degrees Celsius, it's a summer gas. Thanks for watching :) You can't go wrong with the trangia triangle 👍

I have never used an alcohol burning stove. What are the reason why a person would use this type of burner vs. a gas burner? Do you get more cooking capacity out of alcohol vs. gas? Is it less costly?
@PaulBissekerBushcraft
@PaulBissekerBushcraft 6 жыл бұрын
Alcohol will work at very low temperatures compared to camping gas. You may know that you can't freeze a bottle of Vodka! Alcohol is harder to start at very low temps but it will burn. Also its silent running. The common fuel in the UK is methylated spirits. You can buy bulk meths www.restexpress.co.uk/acatalog/Methylated_Spirits.html?gclid=CjwKCAjwo_HdBRBjEiwAiPPXpHBrfvkLyrSq1Xhku1gdHDdCJnqPXa8F3IWprBRGoe0-I7uEjfiLexoC3osQAvD_BwE It's cheaper than gas cartridges.
