Took my Mini-Trangia with me on a trip to my favorite State Lake today. I wish that I had taken the Trangia 27. I am packing it in the car for my next fishing trip tomorrow morning. I will be taking some bacon, potatoes and hardboiled eggs with me and it's all your fault! Thanks for the inspirational video! .

Hey thanks....i just treat it like i am talking to a friend....its a bit odd at first, i too just wanted to record my ramblings as a sort of record. I wanted my kids to have some natural unpretentious snapshots of their dad doing his thing, so to speak. Lol....eventually now though i find it a really enjoyable hobby....just a bit harmless fun....Cheers Chris

Hi Chris, another stunning video with the Trangia and the dogs, love it, now I have all the series of Trangia's but the important thing is to add 10% water to the meths, this will stop the pans sooting up underneath. Give it a go, It works. Cheers Chris

Really enjoyed your vid Chris, trangia's are my go to stoves... I'm like you and have all sorts, Bush box XL.. Solo stove etc etc but the trangia triangle is my favourite and never lets me down.Most meths burners are very good I find, just that trangia have good build and material quality. Atb Mike

There is something so compelling about stoves....I just enjoy using and trying new types, though I have never had a canister type. It’s relaxing to just sit back and burn...lol.....Cheers Chris

Nice video Chris I haven't got or had the trangia 27 kit always fancied one but thought it was too big not heavy, to carry around I have brought myself a new daypack a Savotta jager mini 20lt can be made to 22ltr always wanted one it's a fantastic little daypack and you can buy bits to make it bigger a little expensive comes from finland but worth every penny. Regards Barrie
@TurnFullCircle7 жыл бұрын
Hi Barry, they are not that heavy when you consider you have a excellent wind shield, 2 pots, a small kettle/pot and a frying pan. Also not forgetting the bomb proof Trangia burner too. They all nest into a pretty compact size, and in the uk cost about £50 - 60 brand new. I have had mine about 6 years now and the only trouble i have had is i put some gel in one of my burners and clogged it up (the one i used in this video actually) it was flushed out a few times and is now as good as new....Cheers Chris

Do ever use a trangia 25? Trying to decide if the size difference is worth it. The kettle is bigger for the 25? Thanks
@TurnFullCircle7 жыл бұрын
Tech Guy Hi , i am happy with the 27 as its ideal for 1-2 people and though its chunky its not too big in the pack.....i think the 25 is for 2+ groups so would suit families etc....as i always say - if you want a decent meal the Trangia system is the way to go.....hope this helps all the best in the. Hey Chris, What ya think to the new Fenix 5? Cheers
@TurnFullCircle7 жыл бұрын
Hi, only seen on here and reviews, but I must say it’s tempting! Lol.....though the battery life sucks....that’s why I bought another suunto - ambit 3 peak - battery is phenomenal on gps...up to 200 hrs!! But obviously it features ar very limited compared to the f5. I look at it from the point of view - Fenix functional eye candy - suunto outdoor tool. I sold my f3 because it was to me a great watch but if I was on a long hike > 10 hours plus with gps i could not trust without a recharge to get me home . Hope this helps cheers Chris
@k7lco7 жыл бұрын
Hi Chris, I'm tempted too, but as you say, on long hikes the battery may not last. Could always charge it whilst eating a bacon butty :) Thanks
@k7lco7 жыл бұрын
Actually, just checking on the Garmin website and it reckons it'll do up to 24 hours in GPS mode now ! :)

I think I like the idea, even though I would have a power bank with me, of not having to mess about charging half way though a trip....Hey lol don’t get tempted by eye candy, in the long run how much time are you looking at your watch when enjoying the outdoors?? . Mines a tool to tell the time and how to find my way out of an unfamiliar place, and actually a one inch hi res map is useless to my aging eyes anyway lol!! Cheers Chris

Hi Chris, Looks like both you and the lads had a great time! Note that they do Lava Java in coffee bags now, tastes the same as when using the loose coffee but much less fiddly. On chair matters, if you don't fancy the knock-off version of the chair one I posted previously (mine is excellent) Go Outdoors have launched their own version if you want to try before you buy (double the price of the eBay version but half the price of a genuine Helinox Chair One) www.gooutdoors.co.uk/oex-ultra-lite-camping-chair-p362066
@TurnFullCircle7 жыл бұрын
Hi matey, thanks for the info....i have actually tried that one at the Derby store, and its decent chair, just size of it put me off...as my pack is quite compact (33 ltr) i am looking for a very compact item....lol i am lusting after the chair zero (13 inch when packed) and just a smidge over 1lb in stuff sack!...but a little on the rip off side in price. I have found as i get older that instead of going on price, to go on the item being up to my expectations. I would rather buy once and get what i would end up getting eventually, anyway, after not being totally happy with a impulse buy. If you know what i mean.... Too often i have tried to cut corners and spent a lot more in the long run...Cheers Chris
