I'm from the England and grew up in the 90's so grew up watching name's like Colin McRae Richard Burns in Wrc. Mansell, Hill, Schumacher in F1. Earnhardt in NASCAR so number 3 for me. A lot of people just say all NASCAR driver's do is turn left. To me that's just bs. To win Daytona that's pure Racing you don't get many second chances if you make a mistake. I remember when I heard Earnhardt, McRae Burns passed away it ripped my heart out. Hence why I see the heritage and legacy being torn up when underserved driver's get numbers like this. Either retire the number or put someone that deserves the legacy in the seat. 7 Daytona 500's for the king 43

After I got my drivers license at 16, my first race at Laguna Seca in 1970, Mark Donohue in his Javelin was chasing Parnelli Jones in his Mustang. The TransAm series was so great because you had factory teams running production based pony cars driven by some of the best drivers in the world. The cars were the true definition of stock cars because the rules were strick. Today's TA cars are tubular space frame, custom suspension, fiberglass bodies, NASCAR 355 spec engines. I like the cars and the racing but I don't get the same rush as the I did back in the "Glory Days"

Guys, I know it's difficult to manage a championship at these levels where politics plays a fundamental role, but... with the right promotion, a fuller grid, and the right exploitation of this series, this could become hands down the most watched motor racing championship in America. And why not... maybe one day you could organize a world championship... I mean, just promote and let people know how competitive it is to race here and just handle these beasts! Let’s take away the monopoly of motor racing from formula 1!!! And I say this as a not american and HUGE F1 fan. This series deserves sooo much more. Please wake up.

Stopped this video at 10:24 to post. THIS is what nascar USED to be, and the reason I loved it. I'm unfamiliar with the rules, so likely a lot there to disgust me. That said - the cars are DIFFERENT and IDENTIFIABLY so. The drivers do not appear as prima donnas . The track is a road course, so they actually must DRIVE rather than just mashing the throttle to the floor and hoping no one crashes in front of them. I was age 8 when the original Trans Am Series began. Followed it in Hot Rod Magazine and loved it. Believe this series will be the same. OK - first red flag at 14:00 - keep the sound ON during The National Anthem!
