This belief is widespread, you would be shocked how many pastors think people can be saved without Jesus, but since these men also preach the gospel people assume you can't believe both, unfortunately yes you can, the idea is that "Jesus is the only way for Christians but there are other paths for people in different religions or for those who never heard". Pope Francis will say at times that people should follow Jesus but then he will say things like atheists and people from other religions can be saved also by doing good. The modern Roman Catholics are also teaching that Protestants are saved, in an apparent attempt to get Protestants to agree to the same about Roman Catholics(in a general sense). I have heard this from several Catholics in debates and interviews from apologists with Catholic Answers. Makes sense I guess with Francis being a Jesuit and basically a humanist/universalist. Many professing Protestants are converting to Rome. Rome also teaches that we are all God's children.

Exactly, there is no point, which is why the denominations that have embraced this idea that people can be saved without the gospel, they eventually stopped preaching the gospel and became liberal / apostate. It usually takes a generation or two for this to happen in a church but I've seen it happen within a decade so either way this is why it needs to be nipped in the bud.

Dear Brother Grant, thank you for addressing this issue. If people are saved without Jesus Christ then what was the point of Him sacrificing Himself for us. As Paul states when referring to His death and resurrection, if He did not resurrect, then our faith is dead. We are missionary church planters in Spain...we might as well pack up and leave, we are not necessary. If we follow Dr. Evans' teaching of transdispenationalism to its ultimate conclusion. The Command given by our Lord Jesus Christ is to GO preach, teach, baptize, and disciple others in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The Lord knows what he does with those that hear, whether they repent or reject...that is obvious. That is why He Sent His apostles immediately some even made it to India and others to Europe to Africa in that short period of time. Then their disciples kept on going, until this very day. This is similar to John Hagee's heresy of dual covenant, where the Hebrews are saved just for being Hebrews. Tell that to the Twelve and the rest of the early church brethern. I believe Paul covered that extensively in his epistles...along with James, John, Peter and the unnamed writer of Hebrews. The Lord continue to bless your ministry. Marlan Olson

Amen brother! Thank you for addressing this heretical teaching. This Teaching about the “light within” is new age and a Buddhist practice, not a Christian doctrine. It was surprising to see Ken Ham partnering with Tony Evans for conferences. It seems we’re living in the age of deception and compromise. I will be praying for Tony to repent publicly and recant this evil heresy.

You make a lot of biblical sense, Pastor Grant! One thing that is apparent to me is so many believers haven't read Revelation. The Apostle John states that angels preach the Gospel during the Great Tribulation to the lost who never heard it. I guess Evans didn't read that either. How could he have missed it? 🤔🤷‍♀️

What Tony Evans is teaching is that when Jesus said I am the way the truth and the life is not really absolute.. meaning that Jesus didn't really mean what he was saying. Jesus also said that a man cannot enter the kingdom of God unless he was born again and you can't be born again without believing in Christ how are they going to heaven.

The 1st mistake I hear on the Tony Evans recording you played, is that he assumes someone is seeking after God. This false notion creates the foundation for the rest of his false teaching on the matter. "No one understands; no one seeks for God." Romans 3:11 We know that it is God who does the seeking.

To my understanding the poor native in the jungle as well as for example all the aborted souls and others will come to the White Throne judgement. Part of the reason for the White Throne judgement is to account for all of God’s images before the eternal reign begins. Those souls between Jesus leading captivity free to the White Throne judgement that didn’t get a chance to respond to the gospel.

Romans chapter 3 states that "all have sinned" and "there is none righteous". Yet II Peter 2:8 identifies Lot thusly "For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds." When Paul uses hyperbole like "the poison of asps is under their lips" I figure he's somewhat prone to exaggeration.

In short both Jews and Gentiles are guilty. The Jews had the law and did not obey it and Gentiles while not having the law still understand the things in the law, knowing right and wrong. To say Paul is speaking about how people can be saved without Jesus in those verses (12-16) is to say people can be saved by works which Paul explicitly denies at the end of chapter 3 among other places. Romans is Paul walking thru a logical argument, as I explain chapters 1-3 all speak of man's condemnation, all are sinners, none are righteous NO NOT ONE. Thanks for the question.

All preachers should step down if they are teaching wrong doctrine though there are tons of false teachers and God still allowing them to be a dead false teacher . God could have given them over but for those who are truly born again and start teaching heresy that’s against this false teaching of transdispensationlism get disciplined from God sometimes it end in physical death. Why would God create people knowing they will never hear the gospel condemn them to hell?? I had a pastor who believed the same thing. If people in remote parts of the world would want to know the God who made the heavens, earth and "nature" then they could be saved. Not, just anybody but those who will never hear the gospel.

What verses are you basing this off of, that people are saved without Jesus or the gospel? My Bible says faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God and Jesus said you must believe in Him. Was Jesus wrong, or maybe He just didn't realize? I don't understand where Evans and his supporters are coming from, if you dont have to trust in the gospel what is the point of evangelism?

If the belief in Jesus is not required for salvation, then Jesus came to earth to be born of a woman and born under the law to redeem those under law in vain and we make God a liar and the truth in not in us. Doing good does not save anyone because all our righteous deeds are like dirty rags before the Holy and perfect God. All doing good does is just an expression of our love to God, there is no salvific value. Tony Evans is a fraud and must repent and confess of his sins!

People go to hell because they are sinners and sin, not because they don’t believe. if a police officer pulls me over for breaking the speed limit he has the right to give me a ticket. But I might say I know the Judge of the precinct that gave me the ticket, yea but I am still guilty of breaking the law, and my conscience bares witness that I am guilty. Jesus didn’t come to condemn the world the world is already condemned. People go to hell because they have sinned, not because they haven’t heard the gospel. Romans 1,2, speak of why people will be judged, even though they have never heard the Gospel.
