In the winter of 2017-18 I took the train from Vladivostok to Helsinki. I loved your footage of the train departing Vladivostok station. It brought back exciting memories of setting off on an adventure. From Helsinki, I flew to Rovaniemi and then drove all the way to Nordkapp, Norway. From the Far East of Asia to the far north of Europe almost completely by land. Btw, the footage of crossing the Amur river brought back memories of being horribly hungover from drinking too much Vodka the previous night 😅

Since 2000 to 2018 I have travelled several times through the length and width of this line.Russia had been a fascination for me when I studied geography in class vivi 1950 . In early travel Russians were hooked to alcohol as a nation of drunkards. At every station people were awaiting to buy bottles from the attendants. Restaurants were reasonably priced. In recent years alcohol business is gone Restaurant cars are expensive. People bring there own food. Living standards of people have considerably improved. It is now a tourist gem. Service is excellent. People are friendly.Fares are reasonable. At khabarovsk station the food is fresh and reasonably priced. I have noticed this type of service where I happened to stop. I think Trans Siberian train journey is a must for anyone who loves Russia it's people its history its culture its landscape. It is GEMfor anyone who has the eye to observe. I have travelled Canada and USA by train .They are expensive and very slow. There you go by air or bus.

To be correct, bridges in Russia are protected not by military. This task is assigned to para-military organization named VOKHR. It's Russian term meaning "Armed guard". In most cases, it's two security towers on both sides of river, with one men inside armed with SKS-45 carbine. But all area around and approaches are controlled by security alarm systems and, sometimes, trained dogs.
