How to Sail Oceans

Grey skies and ragged, wind-lashed waves follow us almost to the end. But was we approach the southwest coast of Ireland, she greets us with cheerful blue skies and moderate winds.

King Neptune didn't give you any credit for your past experience during those last 200 miles. That feeling of fatigue will miraculously disappear, and then be forgotten as soon as you get a Guinness into you. Brilliant sail Kevin.

Epic passage my friend! Simply epic. Willing to bet Kevin's trip was the only single handed, engineless, gaff rigged voyage in decades. To have video of the effort will stand as a reminder of what sailing was like and what it has become. Thanks for keeping it all in perspective.

I passed the Fastnet rock one Sunday evening in late September 1995 on my 27ft sloop going the other way heading to NW Spain. The North Atlantic done its level best to smash me with SW gales and monstrous seas. 10 days later I crawled into Bayona in Galicia. Downed a couple of 6 packs as a pick me up. The North Atlantic ocean at any time of year is a cruel sea and tests one to the limit. 3 years later I arrived in Whangarei, New Zealand looking like something the cat dragged in. One hell of a pub crawl.....Good luck on your venturesome voyages.

It was awhile ago now, on one of Patrick Lane’s videos, he mentioned Kevin Boothby, and I have followed your journey since. It’s a great feeling when you reach your destination and your first human interaction (especially after 33 days, 9 hours!) as we can all see when you raise your arm and wave 👋 at the dinghy coming your way to greet you!! Epic trip! Safe trip! I cannot wait to see where the wind and seas take you next. All the best Richard 👍🏼🇬🇧

Living life is not about aculades,it's about personal satisfaction, sailing across the wide Atlantic in a small boat and reaching your intended destination takes balls,if the other million want to follow someone opening an amazon package it's up to them, chances are they would be as impressed as me if they knew what this man has acomplished,

When I was a young man I fished off the West coast of ireland, even in summer time it can be a unforgiving piece of ocean,,, I sometimes dream of those mountains of waves rolling in from the open north west ocean,it left me with a healthy respect for the sea and the brave souls that sail it, ,they are definitely the 2% ers, crazy and driven,,

This little hop across the Atlantic was presented in such a no bullshit way. I really appreciated the simplicity of the sail, the captaincy and the skills to do it. you don't need a mega yacht, or a plastic fantastic either. A simple gaff cutter does the job...Doesn't it...

Here's a few lines celebrating your many ocean voyages, I've sailed across the ocean in my dreams, I held the wind behind me all through the seven seas, I looked up to the heavens When the stars came out to play, I've seen a lot of beauty in my day. I've seen a lot of beauty in my day, I've seen the dolphins skimming through the waves in dingle bay, I've reached up to the heavens, When the stars came out to play, I've seen a lot of beauty in my day, I've seen upon the mail sail A song bird lost in time, Too tired to fly another mile His story's just like mine, How many times must we wander Just to leave our thoughts behind, I've seen a lot of beauty in my time. Enjoy,

This is so true begging is the new norm , but that Aussie couple do not cater to sailors any more than the Kardashian do. More troubling is W.W.R that young couple and friend who have not even sailed a day and by manipulating the power of social media paid their boat and got incredibly fancy (and expensive) equipment through sponsorship???S.Fund me now so I might laid back in the Carib later . Normally I would say who cares but those leeches take $ and attention away from the likes of Kevin whose accomplishment is priceless and does not even mention his funding site. KEVIN is the man
