So.....I started going through my list of channels I'm subscribed to and UNSUBSCRIBING from channels that are no long active, and some other channels and finding some I hadn't seen in a long time. And like you, I found myself binge watching. The color doesn't show good but that is black on shimmery gold (Gold Mica).....it's really elegant. You must have got the DUO right when it came out. They weren't going to release it until after Creativation but then I guess someone accidently started selling it (or you are sponsored by Thermoweb). You are going to LOVE it!!! :) Hugs...Janie

So glad I saw this video. I was looking for Deco foil on Amazon and saw that transfer gel and wondered if i would work better than the other one you used. It seems that it does, Although I don't have a manual die cutting machine, I can use your rubbing technique, which is great. Thank you so much.

Transfer Gel DUO is the one that works without a machine.....don't get it confused with Tranfer Gel, they are 2 different formulas. Not sure which you are referring to that it works better than. And yes you can can just rub it, even though the Cuttlebug gives a more even pressure. I often wonder how a rolling pin would work....LOL But you will find what works best for you. @@2CraftySeniors Oh yes....the DUO is for doing it without heat or a machine. It dries tacky and that's what makes the foil stick. Anything that is tacky or tacky when dry will work. But the foil won't stick to anything wet or smooth. The regular Transfer Gel is for when using a laminator or foiling machine. Sorry for any confusion about the use of each of them.

Love what I learned here. I was very excited to try the duo gel on ribbon but I do not have a lot of it so I tried some fairly transparent organza ribbon. I had issues with it sticking to the paper I worked on and it also left much stickiness on my plates- I did let them dry thoroughly before foiling and was using the Duo Gel without heat of course. Any ideas? do you think we should only use thicker less translucent ribbon? I was able to get both the paper and the stickiness off, but it was a hassle...Please share any thoughts you might have.

Hi Karen....thanks for watching. I didn't have any problems with the satin ribbon I used, and I have never tried it with a transparent organza ribbon. I would suggest when using something thin enough for the gel to seep through I would pick it up and move it to a dry spot after applying the gel.....that way you are getting it away from the paper it's stuck to. I would also make sure that it is completely dry.....if you put it on too thick it takes a long time for it to dry. ALSO to prevent it from sticking to your cutting plate I would leave it on the paper (the dry clean paper you transfer it to after adding the gel) when putting it through your Cuttlebug or Big Shot. I have not had any experience with it sticking to the plates so since the foil is on top it shouldn't be sticking to the top plate, so I'm just guessing it's sticking to your bottom plate and the suggestion I just gave you should eliminate that. I just checked out those foils and the go press and it appears that it is for heat activation. The foils I am using are transfer foils. So I don't believe the foils you are talking about will work. However there are many brands of transfer foils and they do not require heat even though they do work with heat. But if you already have the Couture Creations foil by all means give it a try. The easiest way to test it is to see if it will work with double sided tape. @@janiethecraftprincess Thanks Janie, yes I will experiment with what I have. I did go buy a laminator and a few of the toner sheets and deco foils. However I have over 40 rolls of the couture creations foils (15' each roll), that does work beautifully on my go press and foil machine, but I also wanted to try the laminator. Just that the foils and toner sheets are a constant purchase and way out of my budget. I do have some though. Thanks for the advice and please keep all these wonderful videos coming.
