As an fsu fan, pat Payton is not that guy. He did very well last year, but was when the o lines were having to focus on Jared verse, Fabian Lovett, Brandian fiske, etc. He had his chance to be the star player on defense, and he was above average at best. Not that disappointed he’s leaving 🫤

@ whether they go to class or not is irrelevant(not to mention you have to be in good academic standing to transfer). But until it is collectively bargained for them to be contracted employees of the schools, they are they to play football as students. And as students they have to be transferred and enrolled into their new school. Football got in the way of the transfer portal. Not the other way around.

Or will they add more bowl games and CFP games to the schedule which could have the season end later than it already is now? As it stands the CFP ends AFTER spring semester which is disgusting. But the athletes get the brunt of the blame for this mess.

The players in high school recruiting are much better than the portal players on average. You cant build a national title contender through the portal, it has to be done through high school recruiting. Most portal players are just guys who werent good enough to win the starting job or have success on their current team.
