Great quick notes. Really shows the area where transforaminal injection goes and why. Cut to the chase and done. Great explanation.

I had my injection today and though it’s supposed to have full effect in 2 weeks I already feel a difference and for the first time in a year I am not moaning with pain in my back and sciatica…I have a feeling I will be able to sleep on my side for the first time in a year…

Dr Rubin, how long will the pain relief last for?
@DrEdwardSRubinАй бұрын
Results vary. Usually 3-6 months of relief

@DrEdwardSRubin thank you. I would be happy with that. Is there ever a fix permanently for this? I had an L5 vertebrae compression fracture 6 months ago. Got the injection 2 weeks ago. So far so good. Is the pain from arthritis in that area or inflammation? Also would it be wise to move to a warm weather climate via NY to Florida. Would that help it? Thanks

Can this cause anxiety and depression like oral steroids can?

Excellent video, I did but my pain improve only in one side.
@DrEdwardSRubin Жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear that. The procedure can be repeated on the opposite side or a different approach can be done such as a midline epidural

Good morning. Excellent. CT scan guided : will be better??? Need your opinion please. Regards Dr Mohammad Arshadullah
@DrEdwardSRubin Жыл бұрын
The injections can be safely done under x ray or CT guidance. Just depends on the doctors preference. I would not say one is any better than the other

Is it a permanent solution?
@theoryofwarfare Жыл бұрын
Typically shots last 3-6 months. They can be repeated. Usually up to 3 a year is safe. About 1/3 patients do get long lasting relief (more than a year) but there is no way to predict
@vinaykerni2531 Жыл бұрын
Soo it mean it is not a permanent solution
@DrEdwardSRubin Жыл бұрын
Epidurals are not permanent. Surgery is a more permanent option
@dorothy135 Жыл бұрын
Agree. My experience was long relief but not permanent. I had back surgery in the 80s and was great a long time. I then got 2 epidurals by Dr.Fuss when he did outpatient and they each lasted years. I am seeing Dr. Rubin this month as my back is in trouble. Hoping for a good outcome whatever is decided as a potential solution vs. Surgery that they are trying to avoid. Channel is helpful.

What if you have severe vaccine injury, have spike protein blood antibody levels over 15,000 U/ml, severe depression and anxiety and microclots throughout the body?

It felt like 240 volts of electricity went through my leg that was strong enough to make my leg jump off the table during the procedure. What would cause this? It sure did smart for a couple of seconds and I'm glad I had an empty bladder!

When you inject close to nerve you can feel a zing. Its normal

I had this massive jolt. L4l5. Right side transforamenal today. Down my leg but also into my quad. Leg jumped as well. Then quad was weak walking out (going down stairs leg was giving out) but seams better now. Doctor said temp quad weakness was normal. I haven’t see that anywhere. Does that sound normal?

How many of these can someone have in their lifetime? Do they become degenerative or ineffective over time? I’m only 30
@DrEdwardSRubin Жыл бұрын
The limit is 3-4 a year. There is no lifetime limit. In younger patients I may recommend surgery if getting shots year after year. In an older patient who cannot tolerate surgery it may be reasonable to continue with injections. Over time repeated steroid injections can lose effect and can lead to long term bone loss. It's risk vs benefit on case by case basis if you want to get these long term
