Beautifully explained ! I have never realised the mechanics of the right handling so much faster than the left. I'm right handed.I always just swing the club thinking that both hands were going at the same speed. WoW!! I'm off to practice this first thing in the morning. Many thanks.

Love it. I’ve always had a hard time not using my dominant (right for me) side and hand, and tried to swing with the other arm (left) by pulling but it’s inaccurate and feels power-less. Great to see proof there are other ways from the so-called conventional nonsense. Hope you’re doing well and on the mend Marcus!

Marcus, you make it sound so simple and watching you swing and strike the ball you have the holy grail of an effortless swing. Does the equipment we use (shaft stiffness ect) impact our ability to generate speed! I consider myself strong but to hit a 7 iron 200 yrds I’d need to be on an airport runway. Great to see you looking so well. Keep them videos coming as I’m trying to keep the picture of you hitting the ball in my mind.

I have students here in Sweden that struggle with this for a month or two and then one day it just works. We need to reprogram our minds to run an efficient program instead of the one we used before. It can be done. 😊

So glad you’re well and making new videos. Been watching many of your older ones again. Each time I get more out of them. One question, what should the lead hand and arm do? I’m pulling and pushing with my trail hand. Lead arm feels left out. So glad you’re back.

Getting a sense of that pivot point in the handle between the hands is huge. Personally, I feel it as a push with the pad of my index finger on my trail hand and pull with the pinky pad of lead hand. Definitely less pull with lead hand to make it the “slower” hand. At least that’s how I feel it. Once in a while I can time it right so the lead hand pulls faster by stepping into lead leg, which raises lead shoulder as lead arm straightens, which REALLY speeds up the club. But it takes a lot of practice to feel that timing and mostly I’m happy from the shot I get without the extra speed. But it’s a very addicting feeling!

Great job. We need to find the feeling or thoughts we need to make it work. it will be our own feelings and therefore we are the only one that can find it during practice. I can guide you to understand what to do but nobody can teach you how to do it. 👍

As an amateur golfer I’m looking for any bit of club head speed …I believe you might have unearthed the reason I’m not getting any mph advancement in my club head Your explanation of the limited time and distance the lead arm is engaged in the down swing is interesting Could be a reason of a pull hook when to much distanced used with the lead side and of course that is if the other components are correct as the grip As an amateur golfer I keep the lead side working through the swing at full speed and distance and that could limit the amount of power delivered to the club…not enough power delivery distance I will be experimenting with you explanation soon You keep us thinking and that’s a good thing 👍⛳️👍

I messure it with a device called DeWiz. It's nice to know what you do but I was a bit chocked when I released that my peak speed was a good two feet before the ball. We learn every day. 😊

Marcus, perhaps a video discussing your best philosophy for breaking 80? I hit the ball fairly well on almost every swing (i.e. the ball goes up and away in the general direction) but I don’t hit greens and rarely get up and down. I track my handicap on Arccos and I’m flatlined at 12. I try the standard approaches that other KZbin golfers suggest. Hit irons off the tee, play extremely conservative, and all that seems to happen is I end up playing a few shots worse because I’m making absolutely no attempt to score.
@MattS-pv6mk2 ай бұрын
Focus on 100 yds and in. Scoring happens there. And putting, focus on weight, limits 3 putts.
@jordangourley39552 ай бұрын
@@MattS-pv6mk weight?
@MattS-pv6mk2 ай бұрын
@@jordangourley3955 distance control, some refer to it as weight. If your distance control on putts is consistent, your ball will finish close to the hole, less 3 putts. You'll be breaking 80 in no time. And sorry if I overstepped, you asked Marcus the question.

Be your own caddie. Most of us know it which situations we get in trouble. Try to avoid those and practice your short game. We save par so many times if our chipping, pitching and putting is good. The club I practice most is my lob wedge and that is my savior on the golf course.

Thanks for the excellent videos. I find that this active twisting of the lead wrist unpleasantly increases the rate of clubface closure. I get better directional control with the lead wrist passive after unhinging at the top. However, twisting the lead wrist through the ball feels so natural and powerful! Please comment on face closure and the release in a video when you can. Thanks.
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad2 ай бұрын
This is NOT an active TWISTING. It's an extension of the lead wrist. Please watch this: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nonTiWCvha99hbcsi=TdH6e468E0XzqS2r

Hi Marcus, there’s a video of Sam Snead showing how to push down with right shoulder as a right handers steps/squats into their left leg. Any thoughts?
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad2 ай бұрын
I think that if we ask 10 of the best players in world they will all have a way to make this push happen. I can feel my legs working when I strike the ball but the reason they work is to help my hands do what they want to do.

Marcus No instructor talks about tension in the body Can you do a video from 70 yards in. My lower body locks up from that distance I believe from tension. It’s keeping me from the 70’s
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad2 ай бұрын
I love to but I can't do a video about tension because it effect us all different. What happens to the shot?
@nicholasdemetriades91542 ай бұрын
Tension? There should be very little tension! Practice to targets. I use small cones on a field and space them 10 yds apart from 30-80 yards. I use my 56 degree with very low bounce. There should be no speed in these swings. Use your legs and whole body moving at the same rate of speed. Practice with your eyes closed too getting your ball position down. Also figure out how far various back swing lengths carry. Develop a system. You will never be outside of 20 ft at the 30-80 yd range.
