I've been looking for this technique for *MONTHS* and today (at the point of giving up!) I FINALLY find it... just to find that you skipped the MOST IMPORTANT part (for me, anyway)! I've followed your techniques before, with GREAT results. You're a wonderful teacher! You're my automatic "go-to" when it comes to hair videos. But, in this vid, you skipped explaining the very first steps... how to section, figuring out what to cut off to get your guides all along the front, ANGLES of Cuts for the guide. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE edit to include that info!!! Thank you SO MUCH for all of the info you share. I'm sure I'm not the only one that TRULY appreciates it!

You can't show us a style for thin hair using a dummy with super thick, course hair. Orange to Apple doesn't work.

I've never seen your hair down. I love it! I've used a couple of your videos in the past with good results. I'm kinda in that grown out phase and saw this one. I'm fine and med. Not real thin, not thick. But definately need shape, volume, well you know..... LOVE YOU!! TY ❤ I'm gonna try this. Also, thanks for the tips on product and drying. Your wonderful detail in explaining is very helpful.

Omg I’m in love with all of your shag cuts and I have thin hair so I’m loving this! I’m going to plan a day with my daughter and see if she’s willing to use me as a guinea pig! She doesn’t cut hair and my amazing stylist retired years ago. Since Covid, I’ve been doing the single pony tail on top of my head thing but I want a real shag sooooo bad!!!!!Youre phenomenal ❤❤❤

So helpful, I just cut my hair! Checked out a bunch of your shag videos and went with this one. Looks pretty good, way better than I thought, considering I know ZERO about hair! Except that it's on my head. .... and my entire bathroom floor! 😲 lol. Thank you so much, Jake. ❤🎉

Couple of things, can you spin around the model so we can see what the back looks like and while I’m sure it looks great in person, it’s hard to see the definition when the model has dark hair. When I watched your other video with the Shag (with 4 sections) the lighting was much better so I could see the definition but I’d still like to see the back. Overall I like how you explain everything and will look for more videos from you

I LOVE this! But hairstylists REFUSE to give me this cut because I have superfine hair (baby fine) and stick straight hair.
@JosieJo200011 ай бұрын
I have the same hair as you. Hairstylists just cut it all off even when I ask them not to and leave me with a cut I can’t manage at home.

How would this work for someone with thin hair on one side and thick hair on the other side? How would you go about that? What I mean by this is, I've been diagnosed with an auto immune disease and it has attacked the left side of my hair. It is noticeably thinner than the right side.

Hey Jake, I’m in south Florida and you would think we would have amazing Hair Dressers down here but nooooooo! Loving this style you cut. I have fine hair especially on one side near my temples but they say I have a lot of it everywhere else. It’s flat, fine and never looks good… I’m a mature woman. Could I pull this cut off and would it work with my hair? Thanks

JAKE!! MAH-MAN where have you been? Missed you Babe! I was noticing the your hair, which BTW looks AMAZING. It looks just like mine. Only mine has heavier layers 😅. This has just become my new favorite video. I was thinking about you this past Friday while we were getting ready for the Eagles/ Steely Dan concert and was pissed about the length of my bangs 🙄. Anyway, I'm babbling. FANTASTIC video, as always, and so happy to see you 😉 Oh, love the new word "swits" LMAO 🤣

I have supper thin and fine hair will this still work for me
@jakethompsonhair Жыл бұрын
Hey Kathy, yes but you would need to most likely cut it a bit shorter. Especially in the length. If you have some natural curl or wave i would style it the same way, really making sure to brush out to make as full as possible. if you don't have natural curl, wave you are going to need to curl or do something to make it look full and thick.

What does gel do that mousse wouldn't in a hairdo like this? My hair is quite thin and fine. Not sure which to use.
@jakethompsonhair10 ай бұрын
Hey there, mousses likes gels come in varying strengths. For fine hair i like Kerastase Densifique Densimorphose amzn.to/49l1742 it's truly amazing cause you can use a lot of it and it will never build up or make it feel to stiff. Great to blow dry with as well. Lighter Gels can be great as well, only thing is they can be a bit stiff before you blow out. But truly whatever is in your budget, gel or mousse i'd recommend finding something on the "lighter" side.

Thanks for not showing the drying process cuz that would of helped. Hence the point in watching a video. I can read a book that tells me what to do but the point of the video is to show how to do it. It might seem simple to you but if someone is new at it then just saying what you did doesn't help.
