This video talks bout how to transform yourself into a monster. In the video, a harmless man is ridiculed since a harmless man is not a virtuous man. What the speaker urges the viewer to do is to become dangerous but have that under voluntary control. Jordan Peterson says that "you should be a monster" Why? Because id you are harmless, you can't do anything. If you are harmless you will match to the death camp just because you've been ordered to. In this case, a harmless man is compared to a rabbit who can't do anything except get eaten. There is more to it in the video.
About Jordan Peterson:
Jordan Peterson is a renowned speaker, author, former clinical Psychologist, and Professor. He has written three books so far. The first one is The Architecture of Belief, in which Peterson describes a comprehensive theory about how people construct meaning, form beliefs, and make narratives. The book, which took Peterson 13 years to complete, draws concepts from various fields including mythology, religion, literature, philosophy, and psychology, in accordance with the modern scientific understanding of how the brain functions. Check it out here: (Maps of meaning: amzn.to/3pB2d8r) The other book is 12 rules for life, A best seller. Check it out here(12 rules for life: amzn.to/3BgM5vh. His recent book is

About the Channel:
Welcome to wise advice motivation. Our Goal is to produce compelling inspirational and educational videos that tackle major areas of life such as relationships, self-help and so much more.
How we work:
This is a channel that is solely aimed at producing self-development videos with the goal of motivating, inspiring, and educating its viewers. The videos we produce have elements like visuals, audio, and background music Which are not owned by us. But thanks to the fair use policy we are able to use clips e.g. from interviews and Jordan Peterson's lectures and transform them by adding commentary in the form of animation and video footage. Here is how we work. Our editors brainstorm video ideas, then analyze hours of interviews and videos across youtube. After finding the clips, we then stitch them together, add music to provide an immersive experience and commentary in form of video footage and whiteboard animation. This commentary helps transform the video to be unique as well as gives the original clips a new perspective. We also add text animations to emphasize important messages in the video.

This is all well and good, but you have to know your limits before trying something new something unknown. These days, people aren't really in a position to do that safely. But the best thing I've found is that you find your reason, whatever it may be, that reason to keep going. It took a long time to find mine and it's been Hell, but I firmly believe now more than ever that all this strife will pay off. Conditioning, you can think of it. Because you work yourself now, bits at a time, and when you're older like say 30 or 40 you'll be mentally, physically and most importantly spiritually prepared.

Jacob I have a question, I’m dead serious about it too. I admire your thinking. See, at heart I’ve always been a family man. Obviously I need to attract a woman I’m drawn to first. I was always joked in school. Never had friends: basically everything was hell. Now I’m angry at myself, the cards life gave me, violently angry towards the people who joked me, the women who hurt me. I’ve been to therapy. I just don’t see an end in sight, no redemption. Can you provide helpful hints? If I drop all the negativity, if I controlled my own world along with some of the outcomes I’d say “I’m a fucking marvelous man who has what it takes”.

@@thechaz83 Man I definitely get what you've been through and if I can bring a bit of advice to you then I shall, first, I don't know if you have but, take say 30 minutes / 1 hour to retrospect on your life so far, like seriously just sit down, empty room and go " What's wrong ", talk to yourself but at the same time let go of your emotions, no more negativity nor positivity just come up with what's wrong and most importantly don't overthink and jot every wrong thing you come up with. you probably know better than me but I wanna make sure , once that's done. Time for answers, one at a time think about the solutions you could bring to each and every problem and try to stick to them even the slightest or most unimportant things, fix it. I believe it Was JP that once said " how can one expect to go fix the world if their own bedroom isn't cleaned up " something along these lines so yeah you will get out of it man

I remember my Aunt telling me that when you have children, they will give you the courage and strength you NEVER believed you had. This happened to me; I have always been a rather non combative person most of my childhood and adult life, more afraid of trying new things in life and taught that being competitive is NOT a " lady like " trait. After having my first child, I learned quickly that I needed to be fearless at times to advocate for my son ,who was diagnosed with autism at the age of 2 . This was back in 1995 when knowledge of autism was not nearly known and getting a diagnosis at this time was comparable to me climbing Mt. Everest.The doctors that did know a bit about autism told me very grim statistics and finding resources was a constant battle. I was told I will be my son's biggest advocate, this " forced" me to take on traits I never knew I had in me and traits that I believed to be negative in nature. Going to thousands of I.E.P. 's and sitting in front of school administrators at that time was daunting, but looking back now, I recognize how much positive growth I learned from all this " fighting" for my son. When the doctors told me my son will most likely never speak or even walk, I have a beautiful 26 yr old boy that with many many hours and special education programs through out his life , he speaks beautifully and HE has taught ME more than I think I could ever teach him. The " Monster" Mommy came out in me when I refused to listen to some of these ignorant " educators" and doctors that basically told me to give up on thinking my son will ever progress in much of anything. Just 20 plus yrs prior to my son's diagnosis, autism was thought to be the fault of the mother. They even called them , " refrigerator mothers" , because they were thought to be cold and inattentive of their offspring. And many of these children were deemed retarded and sent to " homes" with little to no intervention . Thankfully , knowledge and programs for autism in the educational and medical field has progressed quite a bit, we now have much better support and public awareness on autism as well.

For literally my near entire 17 years of my life I locked myself out from the outside world. When people bullied me I went home and cried like a defenseless rabbit. I never wanted to "hurt peoples feelings", even if they hurt mine. But I finally realised after all this time that it's okay to be harmful to the right people. People are cruel, they can be horrible to you. But if you never respond you will be weak and depressed. I go outside on my won every day now. I've stopped being afraid of those who bully me because I know how to defend for myself. My mother says "Don't be violent to anyone unless they are violent to you", but one day, I feel maybe this rule will be broken. Someone will be extremely horrible to me. The outside world is cold, bitter and terrifying. But it's my goal to own the outside. I go where I want. Just because some assholes are gathered around doesn't stop me from achieving my goals. I go outside sometimes to meditate. You always get some stupid kids who poke fun at you. But I don't give a fuck. I carry on because it's their world but it's also mine. Even though I'm exposing myself to this harsh, unforgiving environment, I feel happier than I've ever been in my life, because you do find evil in this world, but it should NEVER make you be deprived of all thats good in the world.

Oh wow that really inspired me. You have no idea how that applies to me as a black person (African in particular) who just moved to an all white-neighborhood (due to my job) I used to be something of a Hermit because the last time I tried going to a restaurant I got harassed and publicly humilated by a lady (3 times) and when I tried to go jogging I got insulted (a driver passing by said some really nasty stuff) so that really demotivated me from socialising and doing basic things like jogging or taking a walk All I do is go to work and immediately lock myself in doors (so I lost friends too) But now I realize that hey,I can't spend the rest of my life couped up just cz I'm afraid of some racists and abuse. I'm actually going to put myself out there no matter what...I have every right to go where I want. I'm breaking out of that hermit mode and gaining my social life and confidence back. Wish me luck!

Thats why I always admired people with strong self confidence, I was always insecure during my childhood and later on, felt like I am constantly a victim, allways soft, didn't know how to answer, there was always someone who had to protect me from bullies, because I never knew how to fight back and stand for myself. Today I feel only regret and shame on my past, I know that I never did anything bad to others but I did bad only to myself, so don't let yourself be like I used to be, don't be afraid to stand for yourself, better be arrogant then humble. Because I tell you what this society is jungle, If you don't adapt youself to it, it will consume you eventually.

this is true. When I was a boy I hated confrontation. But After 40 years in martial arts, whenever I'm now confronted by a bully, and he suggests "kicking my ass', I ask him very calmly, "have you ever boxed or wrestled? Because I hate fighting those types of guys...but if you really wanna go blow off some steam, sure, lets go. I'm kind'a needing to blow of some steam too". And I am dead calm as I say that. in other words, not messing around. I wanted to seriously fight. Just blow off steam. I love fighting. I love getting hit, and hitting. It's FUN !!! What in the f*ck is wrong with men today ? That guy , half my age, jumped into his Yellow Italian car and bugged out. I was 20 years older, 6" inches shorter, and 30 pounds lighter, and he coulda' kicked my ass. But he didn't have the balls to even try. He was like "Jerry" in that Movie 3 O'clock high. I wish more young kids would know.... punches don't hurt. Fighting doesn't hurt. Cowardice is what hurts the most. I ran away from a fight with Ed White in 1973. I started Karate in 1974. Running away from a bully is the most painful thing. I regularly fight above and way outside my class. In one class, my TaeKwonDo instructor fought me, and then pulled me out, after class...and I stood in front of my friends....., and said "you guys need to watch Tim. He fights with more heart than every one of you put together". I was embarrassed. We all fought together. With equal heart. We pounded the hell out of each other 3 times a week. But I knew he was right. Fighting is fun for me now. I jump at the chance to defend a woman or correct an asshole. I understand why men may be hesitant to fight. I was a coward at one point too. But once I tried it a few times, it's no big deal. Fighting is so fun, and it really doesn't hurt. I call it "rough housing" now. It gets the juices flowing, and I'm sure it's excellent for my health. To any Father.... teach your kid to fight and gain the self respect.... he may not win the fight, but he will hurt the other guy. And that's how I always entered every fight. I may not win, but dammit, he's gonna remember me and how much it hurt him. He may be bigger, but I'm faster. If he wakes up tomorrow with a trophy, he will have earned it, and will always remember the pain. For 2 years,.... alarm would ring....I would need to roll out of bed onto the floor. I couldn't sit up. My ribs were too bruised...breathing sometimes hurt. But I felt strong. If you ask me to fight Mike Tyson, I would. I'm faster, but if he punches me, I know it's gonna be like getting hit by a bus. Probably put me into the hospital...but its fun. When you learn to fight, "Confrontation" is nothing. A fight, or confrontation, can only culminate into a physical altercation....and once you are never afraid of that, a fight is never so ominous. For God sake, don't be a pussy. Teach your kids to defend themselves, and enjoy "rough-housing". Aiki Jitsu, or Ju-Jitsu, and then TaeKwonDo....is an ideal 5+ year path for producing a healthy individual that will never be afraid of anything or anyone, except maybe a Zombie Seal Team 6. I haven't worked the details of that scenario out yet, but I'll let you know. But I don't think it I'll bother with. Most people don't believe in Zombies, and I think they're right... and if there ever was a Zombie Seal Team 6, then God help us all. I guess we're doomed. Could you ever imagine....? Zombie Super Soldiers. What a nightmare.

Love your comment, thank you for sharing. I myself was a peaceful, happy boy afraid of confrontation, afraid of an arse whooping, also afraid of being seen as the bad guy. As the years passed, ive learnt alot, ive stood up to the bullies i couldnt defeat at a young age, it helped push me to give my spirit the body/skills necessary to exist without fear from others. I stood in front of my father at the age of 5-8 so he wouldnt beat my mum, which would of been difficult but im proud of my young self. Today faced with aggression i am calm, i love to fight, but i dont want to hurt someone weaker than me, but If the aggressor gives me no choice Ill teach him a lesson. It rarely ever came to that, they may be a monster but they sense im an even greater monster. I see you are the same, i love that in a person, peaceful yet ready for war. I understand your frustration with alot of males today, either they are overly aggressive, rude, arrogant, or they are overly placid, weak, fearful, and that is no way for a man to be. Thankfully alot of young men today have fathers who were born in a time where they had to be men, and many of these kids are taught the traits of inner strength and perseverence. The feminization of boys, the breaking of families structures are leading us to a dangerous place, i fear for my young daughter's welfare in a world were masculinity is demonised and the boys seem to be getting weaker and weaker with the rise electronics. Outside kids rule ;) Admire your fighting spirit, i know it will never waiver and will be with us both until the day we die.

Like a great indian poet once said"क्षमा शोभती उस भुजंग को जिसके पास गरल हो उसको क्या जो दंतहीन विषरहित, विनीत, सरल हो।" meaning "Forgiveness only suits (शोभती) to the snake (भुजंग), who has poison / venom (गरल). What will he forgive who has no teeth (toothless), bows to everyone (humble) and is very simple." in our ancient texts this is everywhere.

Some of us are already monsters, far worse that you are thinking of right now. We stay passive because we don't know how to control it once it is free. We've seen what kind of damage we can do because we are also very smart, we know the weaknesses & how to exploit them if we really got angry, vengeful, & vindictive. So, telling someone to become a monster... that's literally like looking for more damage to society.
@lastnamefirst650
@lastnamefirst650 2 жыл бұрын
I feel like he’s more saying ‘accept the monster you have’ rather than act out what that monster would do. We spend so much time saying ‘oh I’m not like that’ but you’ve acted that way so some part of you is like that. It doesn’t mean you deserve the electric chair it means you need to accept that it’s part of you. Then from there be curious about what triggers you into that state. And build a system around awareness where you are in control because you see it coming and can stop it. Something like remove yourself from a heated situation long before fists start flying, stop drinking/abusing drugs that take you there, break off a friendship that encourages that monster. Etc.

Needed to hear this after a period of isolation from a lot of stuff after a lifetime of containing and fighting against what I find wrong. It feels lonely sometimes or after enough you go to a safe place, but that’s not a life or a way to stay forever. And it’s time for me to go back out in the world. What a big message, I’m a woman, not a man. But this spoke deeply to me, I am a human, and I realize now my faults aren’t bad, they are bad when I no longer have power over it and how to use it for things of purpose or higher meaning. Amazing message, might be my top two favorites of his I’ve heard.
