Un alambrado poco eficiente con respecto a las torsiones que luego se le dieron al árbol. Además, estéticamente es horrible ese alambrado. Creo que hay que pensar mejor la forma de alambrar antes de ponerse a darle vueltas a un alambre alrededor de un tronco o una rama, de cualquier manera, sobre todo si este trabajo se va a mostrar en un vídeo y posiblemente mucha gente lo copie pensando que es un buen trabajo. Hay que dar buen ejemplo si se quiere compartir un trabajo con más gente, para fomentar unas buenas prácticas en el bonsái. Un mal día lo tiene cualquiera. Espero ver una evolución positiva en futuros trabajos de alambrado. Gracias por compartir. ¡Un saludo!

Gracias por tu opinión. El bonsái ahora se ha vuelto muy hermoso y ya ha sido desarmado. El cableado es solo un medio para un fin y solo por un corto período de tiempo.

@@WorldofBonsai / Es una opinión muy respetable, pero no la comparto. Un alambrado bien hecho es muchísimo más eficiente, además de ser más bonito. Alambrar bien permite hacer torsiones más complejas y de forma más segura. Permite que no se claven tanto los alambres, etc. La diferencia de tiempo entre alambrar bien o mal no existe, sólo hay que preocuparse en hacerlo bien desde un principio y e ir adquiriendo la destreza necesaria. Quizás podría haber evitado el quiebro que tuvo al hacer la torsión si hubiese alambrado en la dirección correcta. Pero respeto su opinión. Los árboles son suyos. El canal de KZbin es suyo. Lo peor de todo es el mal ejemplo de alambrado que da a sus seguidores y que quizás copien algunos creyendo que es un buen trabajo. That's a pretty extreme example of wiring as there are no gaps between branch & wire. How long do you think it will be before you get wire scars?

Hi Chinaman, depends on pressure and species. Some scars are not really disturbing, will heal in time. You can also use rubber or wood pieces to aboid scars if you like. Cheers

New subscriber here! Wonderful work on the juniper, thanks for sharing. I am currently devastated as my 40 year old cedar bonsai has died. I was ill for 6 months and the pot got overrun with ants while I had other things on my mind. I need to start another one! I live in the eastern part of the UK.... and want to put any new bonsais in the new Japanese garden that I am forming. So it need to be a hardy tree. Do you have suggestions on what genus I should choose, please?

What kind of cedar? I have two blue atlas cedars which are grafted and both have been doing well in my very ameteur hands. I thought I'd lost one to transplant shock when it shed all its needles but a year in a sheltered, shady spot and it's thriving again. My other happily grows in full sun during the North East UK summer

Jbirtwisle - Cedrus libani . I had no idea just how destructive red ants could be. When I looked at the roots to find out why it was looking so sick, there were thousands of ants in the pot and barely any healthy roots. My tree was 40cm tall, with maximum spread of 40cm; no way could it survive with no roots. It went to “bonsai hospital” for around 3 months, but it was no good. Nothing could be done to save it. I feel like I’ve lost another lifelong friend (that sounds soppy, I know!). Mine was not grafted, but I’m thinking maybe trying that next, perhaps with a more robust rootstock. The new bit of garden I’m transforming will be all Japanese flowers, dwarf shrubs and bonsai.... if my health holds up. Exciting times ahead!

Depends. Usually at least a year. Two would be better. Remove it before it cuts into the bark

You should have a rough idea of how the branch should be arranged and set. Bending backwards and forwards is not good for the tree since the bark might separate from the wood.

Hello Kenneth, my missing rough idea has worked out. In the meantime ( after more than one year ) the wiring is removed and the tree is developing fine. The bark is fine as well.
