I was converted at home, all alone w a Bible! My Bible would collect dust in another room and I walked past it every day out the door to sin. After months and maybe over a year of hatred of my lifestyle, all alone in my bedroom I heard internally, "Get your Bible," or "Find your Bible." Nooo lieeee innnn meeee. I darted down the hallway and back into my room. I opened to Romans 7- "The things I want to do I don't do, the things I do not want to do, these things I end up doing!" After endless anxiety, conviction and anger, it all stopped on a dime and I saw my life in Romans 7. I couldn't believe these words were in this book. That day and that word CHANGED MY ENTIRE LIFE AND I HAVE PERSEVERED BECAUSE A NEW LIFE WAS GIVEN TO ME, CHRIST IN ME, AND IT LIKELY TRULY STARTED THAT DAY! Years later I gave a brief testimony of conversion and a young man like myself said, "You know, your story is very similar to Augustine." I had no idea. I researched and saw, wowww, very similar. Same God, different Era. God Bless

Ask Jesus to take it from you, to give you peace from it so you can live with peace of mind to serve Him, to do His Will and not yours. I was addicted to Marijuana since age 14. Forty years later I finally gave it up to Jesus, asking Him to take it from me, to give me peace of mind so that I may serve Him, to do His will and not my own.ive been clean for 3months now and feel great. Say the Lord's Prayer, emphasizing each part, especially 'Thy Will be done on earth..' and 'forgive us our trespasses..'. God sees your struggles and knows your heart. He won't let you suffer this alone; He wants to help, you just need to ask Him in Jesus' name. Ask Him to imbue you with The Holy Spirit for a comforter, to walk in God's grace. I'm praying for you. Hi Josh. I believe we all do to various degrees. I would be glad to tell you how the Lord is healing me, and my involvement in the effort (what I try to do in the strength of the Lord, it is not a passive effort). I'm 60, I've been a believer for 30yrs. I've had serious problems with porn during this 30yrs. It is during these last 10 or so yrs that great progress and change is being realized, thank God. Beware of legalism; we can't just say "I will stop this and then God will find me acceptable". God sees us through Christ's work on the cross- his perfect life of obedience, his righteousness, has been imputed (reckoned) to us by God. We are 100% acceptable to God, He is 100% for us. Yet we are told that no sexually immoral person will ever enter heaven, or the presence of God. This is deadly serious, there has to be change. But we can not just "stop" doing pornography, and it sounds to me that you have realized, or are realizing that. We have desires; we want, we need, we will not be denied. We can't just get rid of them, they are as valid as the need for food and sleep. We go nuts if we try to deny them, we go a while; a day, a week, maybe two, and the dam breaks and breaks bad. Let me say: talk to the Lord Jesus about it, frequently, ask for help. What you want the Lord to do for you is to shift the object of your desires. Ask the Lord to fix your desire toward him. A new kind of "feel good", a new kind of relationship. Real love, which God does not intend to only be sexual (and it will not be with him of course). There are things we can do: avert your eyes, don't look at sexualized media (racey pics etc), call to mind verses from the bible about God's promises about the future-the joy he will provide for us forever, joy that will never end, God saying our name in kindness, there are endless biblical things to be brought to mind(if you know your bible). If you don't know your Bible you are perhaps wasting your time anyway. Read and believe your Bible daily, as much as is practicable. Jesus said "the words I speak to you are Spirit, and Life. There is more that can be said, much. Talk to the Lord. We are told by David in Psalm 62:8 "Trust in Him at all times! Oh people! Pour out your heart before Him, God is a refuge for us." God is supernatural, ask for and believe in His supernatural help. Ask Him to help you even believe in that, because it is beyond our natural abilities to believe and Satan is always there to suggest it is a bunch of rubbish, so who are you going to believe? In certain ways it is like a muscle, the more you do these things,the more it builds and your control if yourself and the situation gets stronger. That is how it is working for me, and it is sweet! The Lord Jesus is good, powerful, and greatly to be praised. may the good Lord bless you in your efforts my friend, to the praise of his glorious name. Amen.

I struggle with pornagraphy. I've used it so long to escape life. Try to remember the devastating feelings after watching it before you watch it. I feel so distant from God and my family after I watch it. That's what I try to do.

I struggle to, but here is my encouragement to you. Firstly remember this is a spiritual war “Now I, Paul, myself am pleading with you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ-who in presence am lowly among you, but being absent am bold toward you. But I beg you that when I am present I may not be bold with that confidence by which I intend to be bold against some, who think of us as if we walked according to the flesh. For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.” II Corinthians‬ ‭10‬:‭1‬-‭6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ never go into battle without your armor. My suggestion to you is read scripture concerning sexual immorality and store up the verse so that when you are tempted you can fight the desires with the word which is the sword of the spirit. Secondly when you are tempted it’s important to get down on your knees and pray because just as the scripture says, “pray lest you enter into temptation” pray pray pray pray I promise you bro it will help you in the fight. Always remember that even when you are tempted GOD will make a way out and HIS strength is sufficient in your weakness, 2 Corinthians 12:7-10. Lastly please don’t condemn yourself, rather when you feel sorrow it should be Godly sorrow that brings forth repentance, look to the cross in that moments and remember how much HE loves you. Let that love be your motivation to be better. Also run from sexual sin just like Joseph did when he was tempted, because brother believe you me you will get knocked down😂 run away! Just run, look at examples of great men of GOD that fell because they didn’t run. Learn from your mistakes and even make a covenant with your eyes!!! GOD’s got you, I suggest you read 1 Corinthians and Hebrews.

I have holiness, IMPUTED upon me by Jesus Christ. I have righteousness, not contingent on how I live after salvation (although we are not arguing we are commanded to live upright and pure). I have a righteousness bestowed upon me that I contribute nothing to. It is a righteousness CHRIST ALONE earned during His perfect life as my representative on earth! I have salvation, not a "final salvation" that Piper makes up where at the end, the fruits of MY life, the works of MY life, the mortification of MY sins, is tested to show that I was good enough (by God's grace of course?) No I have a salvation NOW. I had eternal life the MOMENT I believed. (Ephesians 1:13-14, Ephesians 2:8-9, John 5:24, John 20:31, Romans 3:28, Romans 4:1-8, Acts 16:30-31, John 6:28-29, Titus 3:5, 1 John 4:10, Rev 22:17, Galatians 3)

Hello. Please let me humbly, but with conviction, say that if I can see the errors in your Biblical reasoning they must be easily visible. You seem to be confusing justification with holiness, or at the least conflating them. I hope you noticed that Mr Piper said "...in the same way..." We all make blunders friend, but a strong word of caution: if you are trying to save people, as you say, by tearing down false teaching and offering up your own, you had better be extremely certain, extremely, that you are not tearing down true teaching, and in place of it offering up false teaching. Remember, teachers are held to a higher standard by the lord, and will receive a stricter judgement; James 3:1. May the Lord Jesus guide us in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake, and His name will be our joy forever, for the Lord is good and greatly to be praised!!!
