I appreciate AOE because it's bay's response to criticism in a way of the older movies he made. Americans being shown to always be able to take on decepticons heroically? In this movie the bad guys are the CIA, side characters being kinda useless? The irish guy saves rhe cade family, and tessa helps free the sword from prime. The story always being "rushed"""? This movie is slow and builds up slowly, each section of the movie is only for itself and builds up to the next(cade's life being transitioned into cade being on the run, lockdown's ship transitioning into the hero's splitting up, starting the city battle and the dinobots introduction). Transformer designs criticised for ""looking too scrappy"""? All Transformers look more streamline and slimmer. Bad guy army being grey and black too boring? All KSI drones are coloured and have varients I think this film would have been appreciated if Bay learned to rather not have the romeo and juliet scene with an underrage tessa

The character of Shane Dyson is literally only a couple years older than Tessa Yaeger and their relationship started when they were both underage. The original scene was meant to be a play on an overprotective father trying to pull out random laws in order to protect his girl from growing up. Shane pulls out the romeo and juliet law as a rebuttal to a ridiculous argument from dad. People kind of took it the opposite way and started screeching pedo at Shane's character despite how absurd that is. People need to have more common sense.

Optimus killing Attinger is actually pretty good character development. In the 1st movie, Prime was pretty fanatical about the entire human race having the potential to be better, so much so that he doomed Bumblebee to death rather than hurt the humans who were the aggressors in the conflict. But in the 4th movie, while he decided that Earth shouldn't be abandoned to its fate, he finally realized that Cybertronians and humans are exactly the same, and both races have good and bad persons who don't want to change and will never see the error of their ways

I'm one of the rare few who really really likes Galvatron in this movie. I completely agree that he isn't a good adaptation of the original G1 character. But in this movie, completely separate from the source material, I completely dig everything about his design, his backstory, everything. I love how he's made up of pipes and curvy panels, but still feels like a pointy chaotic mess. My only complaint about him is that he has no payoff in the end of the movie. He just runs away, then becomes Megatron again off-screen. Given my way, I would've had him stay Galvatron into TLK, and have his whole motivation in that movie to be restoring his old self by means of uniting with Quintessa or something. Maybe have him partly restore himself between movies, and have his transformation be half natural and half artificial. Like, imagine if all the body panels of the jet turn into swirling blocks while all the mechanical parts underneath shift into the skeleton of the robot, then all the blocks turn into the armour on top.

I think there is a distinct difference between Optimus's arc in AOE and RotB. In AOE he had lost his faith in Humanity and had to regain it. In RotB, he never had faith in them. We're seeing an Optimus who feels the weight of his failures of abandoning Cybertron that he can bring himself to trust Humanity from the ghetto and Noah helps him see he can trust them. That's different and unique because every iteration of Optimus always had faith in Humanity when they arrived, but here we see how he gets his faith in them. Also, in regards to the surviving Autobots, he thought the same list of Leadfoot, Dino, and Sideswipe, but then it occurred to me that if they did that, then not many Autobots would've been killed off. We would've had Ratchet, Roadbuster, and Topspin who would've been killed. And it adds more weight with the tally being six rather then three. Age of Extinction remains my all time favorite Transformers film. Optimus had an amazing arc with a great relationship with Cade that was different from Sam as you said, I felt every bit of anguish to see the Autobots in this state, Lockdown was incredible, and the Human villains were great, and the movie built off where Dark of the Moon left off with Chicago. Revenge of the Fallen has a soft spot for me as my second favorite film. I just loved the Autobots relationship with NEST and how much they care for each other as brothers in arms. And I loved seeing how much everyone mourned Optimus from the Autobots to Sam to the military. And they were all willing to risk their lives to go to Egypt on the slim chance they could bring back their friend, brother, and father. That shows how much Optimus means to everyone.

The credits roll and a post credit would be grimlock saying “me grimlock want revenge he transforms one last time and eats him

If i was the screenwriter of AoE here are the basic and some specific changes that i would make to the film to make it infinitely better: - (Biggest Priority), remove the Romeo and Juliet law subplot/scene and make Shane 17 years old. - Second of all, remove the opening scene were the seed wipes out the dinosaurs and the blonde lady discovers it, as it's even pointless in the actual film and have the film open with the footage that Kelsey Grammer's character shows in the government room and have the title reveal after he says: "the age of the transformers is over". - Another Crucial change is to Turn Stanley Tucci and Kelsey Grammer into one character and become the main Human villain of the story that is both in charge of the CIA secret team that hunts down the Autobots and secretly works with Lockdown and he also controls the factory were they create their own Transformers and by the end he doesn't get redeemed and Optimus Kills him in same way as in the final film without him saying final line: "No good or bad robots, it's us and them and you chose them". - Along with that make the two assistants of Stanley tucci's character this one blonde scientist that is aware of her bosses evil motivations with the New Robots and after Galvatron's bad signs she departures from the corporation and joins the trio as it's in the final film but she is the one that gives them the seed. - Remove Galvatron's Turn as Megatron and the hole new "forced" plot in the third act of him wanting the seed, instead he gets shut down after the fight with Optimus due to skepticisms but in a cliffhanger after Optimus leaves earth, he Awakens as Megatron and take over the other human made transformers, more on that later for the potential 5th instalment... - So with the aforementioned taken into account, my new climax of the film is about Lockdown wanting to take back the seed and destroy the Autobots and the humans with it because he discovers that the trio helped in Optimus Escape. - Instead of just having Optimus want to kill all the bad guys that took his friend down, we have a scene with him and probably the night they organise the plan where they discuss Sam's Demise in their first attack by the government and Optimus Blames himself for that as he acknowledges that it was a mistake to revive and trust Sentinel. - These Last couple are much smaller but still important as it's about the liability of our human trio. First is the part where Tessa and Shane go to a store and buy supplies, either remove it or simply have them being in disguise and not joking around as they should fear to not get noticed. - If the plot needs Tessa to get locked in the car and getting kidnapped along with Optimus into Lockdown's ship, at least have it to were when Optimus Falls due to Lockdown's missle, the car is automatically locked for security reasons and the glass doesn't break because it's bulletproof and in that way we provide the product placement that Michael bay is so desperate in this film. - Remove Shane's Line "I am not here to save your daughter, you are here to save my daughter", this thing made my balls hurt. - Next is the part where Tessa reunites with Cade and Shane on the ship and it goes as she sees them, she goes directly to shane to hug and thank him and cade is like "sweetie seriously, i did all the job, this bitch did nothing" and Tessa joking responds "of course daddy, i wouldn't forget you" and then hugs him too. Normally i would neither bother with such small moment, but I cringed the way it played out in the film, nor would i play this rather "emotional" reunion for laughs but i must find a middle ground when i write a Michael Bay film. - And for the end, i would have the fifth installment being about Optimus still going into a search in the star to find the creators while on earth Megatron has spread the chaos now that Optimus isn't present and the Autobots and the humans have made up after the truth is revealed and realized their mistake are struggling to service. Those were my changes, I would like to know what you thought of them

Seeing this after my Freshman year, was a blast. It was a great way to celebrate the Franchise’s 30th anniversary, which was 10 years ago. It was after Prime came to an end with the Predacons Rising TV movie, which you should do a video on, despite being what Fans argue the best Transformers movie ever made. With the 1986 Animated one being 2nd best. Most of us were happy that we finally got to see the Dinobots. I do like Cade more than Sam, which is a homage to G1, of how everyone prefer Adult Spike more than him as a Teenager from the start of the Cartoon. Kelsey Grimmer was a much better Human Antagonist than Patrick Dempsey in DOTM. Optimus’s new personality was proof of how much he has changed since the one thing he had as a father, betrayed him, forcing him to kill the Monster that his father figure ended up becoming. Lockdown was the kind of threat that almost feels like a Slasher film. While it was nice getting a glimpse of the Quintesons, since they created the Transformer race, as seen in G1.

One thing that always bothered me The fact that lockdown’s crew doesn’t factor in to much . The shadow raiders . The steel jaws . The stupid drones (that’s seriously what they’re called) How bad ass would it have been to see a crew of like 20 or more cybertronians, a pack of cyber-dogs, and a collective of weaponized alien drone units to do a nest style team up with cemetery wind and gang up on some autobots (and maybe decepticons) every now and then. That’s just me positing ideas but let’s get to the thing that actually gets to me. See I thought the rescue of Optimus and the subsequent ship chase was the end of lockdown’s crew but no, if you pay attention we got at least one shadow raider that clearly survived the crash. And then later in the movie there’s clearly some crew still on the ship. I mean granted we only see three shadow raiders but lockdown doesn’t react to the situation in a way that would indicate that those three are all he has left. Then during the battle of Hong Kong, one of the mercenary fighter craft enters the fray only to immediately get eaten by slug and that’s it. Only one of lockdown’s crew even comes close to the battle. If not all of them, hell not even a few of them are gonna be there, why were any of them there? Why only one?

My only problem with the fight between Cade Yeager and James Savoy is that it’s too even. Savoy should be completely dominating the fight. I liked the football bit personally, something stupid like that was pretty much the only way Cade would ever gain the upper hand here. A ball to the face hurts, it doesn’t hurt enough to matter but it hurts enough to distract you for a few seconds and a few seconds is all it takes for someone you push you out a window. Not only is that perhaps the single lowest bar in the history of metaphors, but no its hecking not. I saw that movie around a year ago for the first time and wouldve died of boredom if it wasnt for the sign at the beginning that said "report Allen activity" allowing me to make "dont name your kids Allen its bad for the environment" jokes during the trudge that was that "film". Not even Michael hecking bay wanted to be there, and he was the guy in charge. I vowed to myself to never watch that abomination to all five sebses ever again. Seeing that thing is a fate wirse than death that I wouldn't wish upon my worst enemies.

Also this movie put me to sleep so I (mercifully) missed part of it.

After seeing the video I can tell you genuinely like this movie. However, I will continue to avoid ever watching it again for the sake of my own sanity.

Now you need to do TLK and ROTB for sure! TLK is the worst but has some of the most coolest moments, while ROTB as you so rightfully said, is utter trash.

ROTB is nowhere the level of horror of TLK lol. It had its flaws, but it definitely had a better story and characters than like 90% of the Bay films

@@Eva01-jy2qu7pu9r at least Sam and Mark Wahlberg from Ted 2 have *something* compared to that guy who just has "Brooklyn, baby!" as half his dialogue, or the woman who has no purpose aside from giving exposition. Or *most of the transformers* who do *absolutely nothing!* ...Well, aside from Optimus and Primal... and even then Primal isn't important to the story for very long. Displeasing.

The Last Knight is so weird. It's an absolutely abhorrent movie yet I love the worldbuilding it tried to add. Sadly, none of it fits together and is all just sequal bait : (

I enjoyed this one a lot more than the others. The new characters, whilst not perfect, were way more tolerable than the insufferable idiots in the first 3. Plus I loved the whole hunted by humanity angle and the villain. It felt more urgent, more desperate and more personal to the robots themselves.

I find it kinda funny that everyone complqined about michael bays action being hard to follow and just metal coliding and then they make it simpler in rotb and everyone complains about it being to boring. They cant win lol

For the most part, I’ve never found his action hard to follow

I will admit, I watched Age of Extinction more times than any other Transformers movie. Why? No Shia LeBeouf and his screaming (Best thing in the movie), Mark Wahlberg being a manly hero, the actress playing Tess was better than Megan Fox (By a bit), Optimus Prime taking down humans and the Dinobots.

As someone who was never really fond of this movie, even tho my only real issue was Tessa's boyfriend, i feel like it need to rewatch AOE now, and i definitely will, i personally will probably enjoy ROTB more even if it is objectively a worse film, but thats just probably cause it was the first Transformers film i saw in cinema. But i think after a rewatch of AOE ill have a newfound love for the movie, even if i dont really like Marky Mark

Now having seen this video, I pretty much agree with everything in it. However, I still don't get all the rotb bashing. They're different films and they're doing different things.
@hob_channel27 күн бұрын
Because Rise of the Beasts stole a lot of stuff from Revenge of the Fallen and Age of Extinction and did them in a worse way, but the biased Transformers fandom praises this movie (unlike Bay's movies) simply for the G1 designs and the lack of Bay as director

As much as some people may not like it, Transformers are still a piece of art. It might be "fast food" cinema, shallow, and even hollow, without meaningful cultural commentaries. But two things are certain: We don't watch things just for its depth, but also for its performance. That's why anime are appreciated, action movies, and even pornography. People watch because of the technique of performance and the plastic beauty of it. Second: if it's a piece of art, then it resonates with some people, so it gains meaning BEYOND the circumstances of its creation. In reality, the real beauty is in watching a movie like this and finding emotional meaning in it. And that's why our generation of boys likes Transformers by Michael bay so much

I think this is an overall great movie made good to okay by a few glaring writing problems, though everything aside from the writing is pretty amazing. Im not a fan of mark wahlberg whatsoever but he does work well in this movie
