I know Bay is famous for the explosions, but in AOE he is literally just slapping explosions in places they don't make sense. For example: Optimus smashes through a wooden door, and it explodes.

6 years ago this trailer came out. 6 years ago my love for the transformers franchise was revamped and increased. And 6 years ago I saw this movie, my personal favorite of the franchise...the colors, the characters, everything was beautiful to me...I understand some people’s grievances about this movie, but personally this was the best movie I had seen, so much so that it inspired me to begin writing my own story about the transformers...unfortunately If I want to get it published advertised and such I’d have to change the characters and stuff to avoid copyright troubles. But the finer points don’t matter, I’m here to express my gratitude to those who worked so hard on this movie and to those who keep this franchise running. Thank you for inspiring generations and making some great content for the masses. Thank you for making this movie, it was an important part of my childhood and I most definitely would NOT be the same person I am today had this movie (and it’s predecessors and sequels) didn’t ever exist.

^ yes!!! When I bag on bay it's mainly because of ROTF, The Fallen was so incredibly powerful..... and yeah Optimus just rips his face off and done deal. Why are people hating on a 2.5 minute trailer? I think it's interesting that people's main complaints about the Transformers movies is that they tended to focus on the humans too much. Based on what the trailer showed, this movie is set very far in the future, so far that it has garnered new human characters. Ultimately, this is going to be a movie that is centered around the transformers. And to be honest, Shia LaBeouf was a strange pick for a main character on the human side, but it worked out in the first movie and I guess they felt obligated to stick with him for the two movies that followed. I, for one, am glad to see a new face in town.

I agree that there is some nostalgia for the old characters (not much, but some). But I still think this is going to be the Transformers movie people were waiting for. Even though the trailer was short, there are actually quite a few subtle details that reveal that this movie is going to be totally different. Yes, you'll have the explosions and the detailed transformation sequences. But I think you may see Michael Bay play his hand at actually having a meaningful plot. These are dangerous times, that's for sure.

I posted this once before, but I'll say it again for the ignorant people: At the end of the day, I've loved Transformers since I was a kid. The toys, the cartoons, everything Transformers, I loved. As I got older, I was so excited for the movie in 2007. Was it perfect? No. Was it still very good? YES! Was the 2nd and 3rd film as good, no. Did they have a lot of flaws? Yeah, they did. But were they Transformers films, and fun to watch? Yes. Not every movie we like has to be a sophisticated, well thought out movie. It's okay to watch a few action movies. People just like transformers so I don't know why everyone hates on these movies. If you don't like them, don't watch them. it's that simple. Why waste time bashing a movie, and people who like it, just because you don't like it? It makes no sense, and makes you as "Mindless and stupid," as you say these Transformers films are.

Rickea Hudson No disrespect, but if you recall from the original cartoons, Optimus Prime would transform into that older model flat-faced truck. If you can, take a look back at the several scenes of Megatron in his "auto form " for that particular battle. Megatron was never a semi truck.
