However I did find one upgrade kite that gives devastator an IDW look along with a head that was looked like the one that prowl transforms into like in the comic also with a fix for mixmaster however they weren't available for where I live

Epic review RodimusPrimal!!!!!! The worst part of Devastator's transformation is getting all the pegs that connect Long Haul and Hook together to line up. I think there are either 8 or 9 connection pegs. Keep on being amazing.

Great video! I'm surprised how many stabilization tabs you missed, though. I'm just going to list them for anyone who may be finding things a little too janky. - Longhaul's arms lock in a postion to tab into slots on the rear treads of the arm figures. - One of Hook's arms is folded up into the chest cavity where it adds strain to his connections to Long haul. it should be half transformed and lock into a slot on the back. (I missed this one for a year) - Scrapper's cab rotates 180 degrees to prevent the lower leg folding in half, and upper part of his shovel should lock into place - With Mixmaster there's a hook between the cement drum and Long Haul's leg that came unpegged during transformation in this video. His arms need to be angled out facing back to allow for ankle tilt. There's also a fold-out- strut in his chest that becomes a stabilization heel Enjoy finding a spot for this behemoth!!

Personally,I love this set of constructicons.When you do a Devastator this huge sacrifices have to be made for combining and size.I understand that and can lookover nitpicking stuff.Devastor is amazing and the best out of any of the other Devastators from Hasbro.

I managed to get my hands on the Takara version. The improvements are great but seeing some of the things the upgrade kits add, I wish they were more available. Also, as I display him next to Omega Supreme I don't mind the scale.

I am so glad you have this guy! I own the Takara one. He comes with guns for the Constructions as well. I only need the front truck part of Mix master for Devastator´s foot. Another one I recommend is my Favorite Combiner Predaking, with the DNA Upgrade kit.

It make sense that Long Haul's legs joints are super tight as they need to carry the weight of entire combiner, and still allow you to pose him the way you want. If they weren't as tight Devastator would not be able to stand, let alone hold the pose :)

I figured that the re-released Devastator by Hasbro would be use the hands from Takaratomy's version since they were trying to be more unified. But it is just a straight up re-release.

i love Devistator in its robot mode. this is the way i have him displayed. i dont have the upgrade kit tho witch i would like to have. also Mixmaster has a heal spur you can flip out for stability if you ever want to display him in combined mode. good review.

Good review. Just an FYI, Devastator has an ankle tilt on both sides. The feet on both bots unlock and fold side to side. There is also a heel spur on Mix Master in Devastator mode that you can fold out. Those might help you pose and stand him up better. Also, Long Haul's folded up arms clip into the bottom of the treads on Bonecrusher and Scavenger. That helps with structural integrity. The ratchets on mine are bad, but no where near what you got. I hope that loosens up a bit for you over time.

Thank you for the fun review RP. I have 2 sets of the CW Devy. The combined mode is where it really shines. That said, I really enjoy the vehicle modes as they are fun toys to mess around with, even with their shortcomings.

I really enjoyed this video. I used to enjoy collecting G1 toys when I was a kid but can’t afford to do that now so it’s really cool to watch videos of how cool some of the newer toys are and how you don’t have to pay hundreds for masterpiece toys to get awesome toy accurate figures now. I respect the great collections people have been able to build up these days and being able to enjoy them vicariously through KZbin is a tremendous thing

Long Hauls wheels fold up to provide more tab support for the arms. Good review. All the issues you described are the same as me. I'm still absolutely happy I got it.

Great reviews mate - I laughed out loud because I’m glad it wasn’t just me with the shoulder connection, as well as keeping the “chest” area together 🤣 That being said, Devastator is excellent values for money for myself - he was 20% cheaper than Scorponok & Omega Supreme here in Australia where everything Transformers seems more expensive. Sits pride of place in my Transformers display right next to Studio Cell Unicron - purely because both catch the eye when you walk by. Hot tip for people looking to maximise space - if you didn’t know already - those pantry organiser shelves that look like 3-4 steps are awesome to display smaller figures.

There is a scaled down KO version you can get on eBay for around $50 shipped. They are all deluxe size and scale well with the others. I have the UW version on my Titan shelf with Siege Omega Supreme, and the KO with All the other generations Combiners

In Devistator mode: Longhaul’s arms are not locked in correctly and Scrapper’s dump is not locked in correctly to make Devistator’s toes solid. Other than that, good review. I own this Titan and enjoy him very much.

We shouldn't take elbows for granted, though they should be a guarantee they are not yet. Big boy. I wish the Takaratomy version was cheaper.

I love almost everything about him. My one big problem is his elbows. They should have been ratcheted. The friction used is just not enough especially when trying to have him hold his gun. Even if they didn’t do ratchets, having the elbows stop when they are straight would have been better. As is the elbows bend the other way making him look either double jointed or look like his arm is broken. I do love his size but I also would have liked to have each constructicon deluxe class. This way Devastator would have scaled better with the other Combiner Wars combiners. Scramble City compatibility would have been nice too, even though I know that is not a traditional feature of Devastator

It’s a shame the upgrade kits for Devastator are so expensive now. Maybe you could paint his fists purple perhaps? Hopefully, Hasbro will revisit all the combiners and redo them all up to the WFC trilogy standards.

I had to check but you positioned Longhauls arms wrong. You need to rotate them down so his folded up forearms can plug into a slot in Bonecrusher and Scavengers treads at the bottom. Additionally when Longhauls arms rotated down there are two rectangular pegs at the top that plug into slots on the underside of Hook in his torso mode. All of this adds much needed stability when he's fully combined. Hope that helps.

Well Rodimus, it is a great figure overall, but i watched a review from Baltmatrix, and he said that if you transformed Scrapper into leg mode too many times, after some time the the bucket part might be unstable

Anyone else think they should do a new G1 Devastator in the Studio Series line, similar to how they did ROTF Devastator. Each Constructicon sold separately, most likely voyager class, and once together they form the combiner. I mean, all the 1986 movie figures have been Autobots, with the exception of Scourge. Where’s the 86 Decepticon love?

If you like this one you have got to check out Jinbao oversized Devestator.I have both and th Jinbao version has amazing detail and quality for the same price.They both seem to be the same size , this one has a nice cartoon accuracy to it , but man those individual bots need some work.

I think the only that Might be bigger than this Devastator...or at the very least comes close is the Power Rangers Megazords going from what I personally saw from this video. But Then again I could be wrong.I'm 100% sure.

Great review. Personally I hate this devastator. If it's the only combiner or kept in isolation I find the combined mode fine but other combiners nearby makes this thing a problem in my opinion.

The individual bots are too big, combined mode has a fine size if you're ok with mass shifting but the other combiners aren't doing that. Those that go off of g1 toy scale means that devee should be the smallest combiner though that's not my preference in this case. I do have Predaking but he's supposed to be bigger than combiners before him. I wish his size was like the KO so he would match my other combiners but I'm not gunna support that practice with my money. The re-release on Amazon frustrated me due to not being the takara versions elbow fixes but that's not as important In my eye as the interactivity stuff.

Scrapper's scoop should lock into place. Also, the cockpit block with the Decepticon symbol should rotate around so that the symbol's upside-down; that helps to further lock him in place for leg mode. And I think that you're supposed to be able to press his arms back in once you've flipped them into position, thus - you guessed it - locking in place better. Hook's just a hot mess. Poor design for his Devastator head & shoulders mode. Even the downsized KO is problematic and likes to untab everywhere before gettin' things locked into place. 😑😒 It sucks that Hasbro didn't take advantage and reissue the superior Takara Unite Warriors version of Devastator. No idea why they didn't do that.

I love this Devestator and I am so thankful Hasbro rereleased him...I too am searching for an affordable upgrade kit for him...I love how well he scales with WFC Omega Supreme since that 1 episode portrayed them as old friends...@RodimusPrimal do u think Hasbro will rerelease titan class Predaking? 9:43. Yeah that right shoulder on hook on my UW version is the only part that won't stay fully tabbed in. Also there are tabs on Long haul to connect the treads of scavenger and bonecrusher so they don't just sit loosely. Does the CW version not have those?

While it does capture that G1 look, compared to my TFC Hercules Devestator I cant help but not be impressed with CW Devastator. Sadly CW constructicons dont scale well with the WFC toys. As Devestator you can overlook scaling, but in there separate forms they are a taller than Megatron making them too big. In the cartoon the constructicons were about the average hight of the other decepticons.
