It’s like a reverse homage; G1 to the ‘07 movie! The Encore line was great for the nostalgic packaging.

kinda hated them as Ironhide/Ratchet when I was a kid...but if I got the toy as a non-TF piloted mech with battle station I would have loved it!...the time, place and marketing can hit hard even when you aren't aware of any of it

I definitely remember not wanting this mold as a kid as well. I could not get past the bizarre discrepancy between the headless figures and their cartoon appearances. I also agree that I could have been sold on these molds if they were marketed as non-TF mech-suit toys…

It always was very strange. The other cars were obviously brilliant. Then we had these funny guys. Exo suits are great though

Awesome review, I really love the deco of this version, for some reason I always liked the movie version of Ratchet. I got the G1 Ratchet when I was a kid, still have him but one of his "tank-feet" is broken 😭, anyways the "head" or lack of never annoyed me too much. For some reason, even though at the time I didn't know anything about Diaclone, I understood why it was designed that way, how I knew, not too sure, but I knew. And even though it is a cool add-on for fans that want it, I am not a fan of the 3rd party head, it just doesn't look right to me.

Love ratchet love your channel and never knew that the green ratchet was even a thing. Having the white one as a kid along with Ironhide, with starscream thundercracker and hound coming out man I would love to get ahold of original ratchet and or remold. Anyways love your channel keep up the great work

Another great variant. There are 3P heads for this green ratchet and the black Ironhide from the encore line too, from the same company that did the ratchet and Ironhide ones.

I don't necessarily like the yellowish green for Ratchet, but the 5 first Autobot had such a cohesion in their colors, Red Blue Orangish Yellow, Yellowish green, black and Silver, quite a combo
