one thing I really like from this prime design is actually the color scheme of the base robot. I love the added white on the classic red and blue, and I don't even mind the chonky boy proportions. If the truck mode didn't have all the robot junk hanging off the back (and maybe if the front wheels could collapse in a bit on the robot), i'd actually like the base robot a lot.

I really dislike the build of him, but I do really like his coloring

it's a shame Transformers Energon wasn't a very good show, a lot of the designs were fun. I wish Transformers Generations homaged this part of the Unicron trilogy more often.

I really don't get why people call this one megazord prime, when he's really more like a scramble city combiner. I can literally count on one hand the number of megazords that combine in this style, and only one can pull off a scramble city-like combination

It's probably because of the colors, tackiness of the vehicles, and the fact that they don't have individual robot modes. Sure it can do scramble-city-like combos, but the chunkiness of the toy mixed with the lack of robot modes gives me a Megazord vibe.

It’s kind of obvious why he was fat because energon canonically takes place 10 years after armada, and since (spoilers) megatron was presumed to be dead at the end of armada, things were pretty quiet after that it sounds like, so I guess with nothing else to do, he let himself go

This is my first time seeing Energon OP; it's obviously not without its problems, but the overall design is pretty cool and unique. Would love to see this guy get an update ala Legacy Armada Prime that at least improves the truck and base robot modes.

I was an OG G1 fan, and I went through collecting the Armada/Energon/Cybertron Unicron Trilogy as an Adult, picked up this along with Wing Saber later on. Out of the 3 Primes, this is my least favorite, and for years, I referred to this Optimus as a Fat Bastard!

I had Energon Prime as a kid and even back then, I didn't like him that much because he looked bad to me. That's why I hate battery packs on a Transformer. It compromises the robot design and makes them back heavy sometimes

Don’t know if you addressed this in the video. What version is this? The American version I thought had that weird mouth but the Japanese version had a chrome super chest and traditional Prime Faceplate. Nvm in the middle of typing this, I looked up and can’t find the mouth version on eBay regularly, guess mines the rare version or something.
