Ooooh! Optimus Prime with a hat! Lmao I am totally with u there. I know my puny little Optimus Prime shelf is nothing compared to some collectors but I'm still proud of them. I even have a few super cheap, dollar store versions of Prime. Definitely one of my favorite Transformers. Definitely my favorite Transformer to collect cause he's everywhere n there r so many versions out there. I would love to have a classic G1 Optimus in my collection but I always seem to miss out on every reissue. Figures take forever to reach stores out here in Delaware n by the time they do get here, scalpers grab them all up. I would definitely grab that new Takara Prime but I'm still way too broke all the time to be able to drop $100+ on a figure. I have very few figures/collectibles that cost over $100 n I only have them cause they were either gifts or on sale lol Neway sorry I don't comment more often. I finally might get my wish for a proper G1 line. I've always had hopes when they brought reissue lines but always felt bad and gave up when they never followed through. '84 and '85 would put me over the moon. Be tough if I tried to collect both missing link G1 accurate and G1 animated. I'd probably have to narrow it down to the G1 accurate line and pass on the animated. But I'm totally in on both 01 and 02 to help support this line. But I'm that guy, I want a G1 accurate line.

Actually, they could’ve done better with the trailer. If you look on the underside, there’s enough spacing between the tires and the rear facing landing gears that they could’ve moved the landing gear back just enough that it has about maybe an eighth of an inch of clearance of the wheels on the trailer and that would allow enough room for the truck to hook up properly with the landing gear forward. The second thing they could’ve done is mounted the gun to the release mechanism so that it goes forward and with one extension added to the support for the gun launcher it would reach the end of the trailer, just like it did in G1 in one of the scenes so literally you could have the gun come out and roller at the same time, so Tara hasn’t thought of everything

Gun issues aside, if they can go ahead and give us a Megatron I'd be happy, even if they don't do anymore characters. Although a new G1 styled Ironhide/Ratchet redesigned from the ground up would be awesome

From what I understand, Optimus is numbered C-01, and C-00 is reserved for Megatron so... And if anyone is deserving of an update ,upgrade Ironhide and Ratchets are a long time coming!

I hope they also eventually do the G1 Dinobots. That may be the only way we can get an official reissue since apparently the molds were lost a long time ago which is why we've never gotten reissues.

I only grab the reissues when I find them on clearance. I find they are not the best quality. Saying that, I would be in to a Takara line of G1 articulated figures. I have the Prime with Trailer on pre-order. I think it is a cool idea. Thanks for the comments on the subject. Have a fantastic week.

On my bucket list. They improved on the G1 with some re-engineering! And they corrected Prime's rifle with a proper peg after 40 years! :D Observing for now. Interesting if they will release Prime as is from TT or somehow make Prime part of the Retro G1. Who knows. I better start budgeting :)

I do think this is over prices. I could see $70 with cab and trailer. Though I do know Takara imports means the price will be more than if it were Hasbro for sale in the States. At first I was thinking I was going to pass just because of the price, but I think I'll probably end up getting it and maybe just do a Paypal pay in 4 or something so it doesn't feel as bad. As I know if I wait for a Hasbro version, it will probably be crap and then the Takara version on secondary market would be like $200 in a year. I hope they do Soundwave next. I think the articulated G1 figures will just be certain ones. As I would say several of them you'd probably have to redesign the whole thing to get more articulation, and then it won't appeal as much to G1 fans. Optimus looked pretty easy to do.

One bad thing is the Hasbro version is always worse quality than Takara. The stickers are cheap on Hasbro. And with Hasbro you can tell the plastic is cheaper and then they have to make changes like longer missiles or something that further ruins it. I did buy a Hasbro G1 Bumblebee at Walmart when that movie came out that I do think is okay. Though I don't have a Takara to compare it to, but I have read complaints that it's looser than the Takara version. I do really like the new headsculpt compared to the original version, and they actually did it in a way that looks like what would have came out in the 80's. I did like on some of the newer reissues of Prime where they started painting the silver banding instead of using stickers there.

80s Transformers Fan I know you're a big Optimus Prime fan and want to ask if you bought the Fans Hobby Power Baser / Powermaster Optimus Prime? It's beautiful and definitely a good upgrade from the 80s Powermaster but he's more in line of God Jinrai. Its definitely better than the Takara Hasbro versions of God Jinrai. I recently bought the Fire Guts God Jinrai Power Baser MB-06 and I can't wait til it arrives because I'm a huge fan of the Fire Guts version. I had to re-subscribe because youtube has been unsubscribing me from folks' channels. Take care and God Bless.

But one day I'll find a complete Power Baser. My E-hobby C-310 Jinrai Powermaster blue plastic areas crumbled (I don't know if I mentioned that before) and been wanting to replace Powermaster since then.

Apparently, there are two different versions. The blue eyes with blue windows. And a yellow eyes clear windows. Most likely the $119 version and $69 version respectively. Some pictures are early photos, and then others are updated pictures.

When MP developed into a full line it became my end-all-be-all where G1 is concerned. It gave me everything my kid soul wanted from my unposeable brick G1 figures. So, while stuff like this Missing Link IS cool it's ultimately just meh to me.

I totally get that. But for me, G1 will always have my interest. I no longer collect MP'S. And the reason why is the price vs. quality control! And I got tired of waiting over twenty years for a complete set of 1984 Transformers!!! And don't get me started with cartoon accurate vs. the vintage toy look change over 😔.
