How would it be possible with G1 Megatrons engineering? That figure was already pushing it when it came to hinges held together by thin spindly frames.

For most Transformers stuff that Takara Tomy does these days, we see the pre-orders show up on Hasbro Pulse and even BBTS. Any toy feature or design that is banned in the U.S. won't be done by Takara Tomy. If Hasbro could do 100% Retro G1 releases, we would have had the spring loaded feature in Retro G1 Hound.

The only way this would be somewhat believable is if it was the bright orange/purple safety version and even then it’s not at a maybe. I kinda think Optimus might be the only missing link for a bit so they can judge sales of him and who would a decepticon be to pair him with besides megatron, maybe soundwave, shockwave is the gun issue, starscream has a lot of parts to work in like

Well i mean because the gun laws turn him into a tank is not possible for him being a gun. Likewise. I'm still waiting for Studio Series 88 Megatron Tank but with some Gun parts for extra parts for the Gun/Rifle mode.

They've taken steps in the past to ensure that there is no easy way to make a convincing gun out of Megatron. Best to let it go... But Takara still could do it.

It would be neat to see an updated G1 Megatron, but America's gun laws are getting tougher and chances of getting it is coming down to zero real quick. Some states even proposed of registering real looking toy guns like G1 Megatron with the state, but not sure how far those legislation went. You would need papers for them and if you sold them, like at a toy show, you would need to transfer the paperwork like you needed to do like it was a real gun. Like I said, not sure how far that legislation went.

So if the masterpiece line can just ship it in robot mode and it is legal. Couldn't they just make it here and package it in robot mode? I mean they make realistic air riffles. Those don't need registration. I also think that with todays building technology haslab could do it if they wanted. If they can make a self transforming dinobot. They have g The capability of doing a proper g1 megatron.

No. It's more that it won't be flagged by the postal service because it won't look like a gun in x-rays of the package in robot mode. It's still plenty illegal. Also air rifles are not sold as toys to children 3-13 in Walmart.

It's a shame this one turned out to be a sham, still, makes sense. Hasbro does seem to be a bunch of hoplophobics even though they could easily just cast a gun mode Megs in bland grey with a blazing orange barrel and silencer.

And if one reads Japanese you will know that the words are just gibberish - literally after the date it means “education prohibited” with the second line reading as “education function / teach stop show math” 😂. Quite some hype though.
