I imagine a car carrier being the Cybertronian equivalent of a taxi.

It's easily plausible to imagine that the Autobots car pool onto a carrier like Ultra Magnus to save energy and fuel just like Humans the same reasons humans would car pool. Especially considering the entire opening story of The Transformers is about a war torn energy depleted planet featuring 2 factions seeking resources to win the war. It's safe to say they would preserve energy where ever possible. That, and considering this was Ultra Magnus's Earth Mode (he is the City Commander on Earth), it still falls within the lines of Robots In Disguise.

a car carrier mode kinda makes sense for cybertronian law enforcement. During a high speed chase, get the perp stuck in alt. mode, put the min the back straight to jail. like the back of a cop car...but with cars

Man this figure is exquisit! Yes, the plastic looks a little... "meh" but the overall look it's just amazing. As for you Balts', this was one of your best reviews so far, in my opinion. Felt like you are very happy with this figure; like 'raging' happy.

Love the review! But the target master you compared Ambus to is actually Payload who comes packaged with Generations Cosmos, and not Gears. Gears comes with Eclipse.

Ben Ulrand I shall buy a 3D printer and 3D laser scanner to create the transforming cab I wish to have! Then sell it 3rd party style as an upgrade kit haha! Any buyers? It's gonna cost me like 400 for the printer i'm looking at, and 500 for the scanner, and 40 dollars a pop for the PLA (material) So HEY! Depending on cost of PLA, if I could sell 20-30 of this kit for 50 dollars a piece! I'd make my money back! :D Soooo any offers? Might take an attempt or two, so price may vary. Plus painting the figures....hmmm, maybe if I made it all out of PLA, replaced paint detail for plastic......hmmm......I must look more into this.

I saw an armada megatron at a toys r us a few weeks ago, he was $50. That immedietly made me change my mind about getting the figure, even the g1 megatron doesn't look as enticing. If the price wasn't so damned high, yeah, I'd be getting them, but at the price I've seen, I may never do so. Honestly, $30 is the highest I can go. Yeah, I'm working off a budget. And obviously collector figures are well beyond my reach.

You have him mis-transformed at the beginning of the video. He comes like that in the box so that he can fit easier. The arms should be pushed up so the shoulder pauldrons stick out more and his feet should be adjusted to stick out more.

about his alternate mode, it's not a Cybertronian mode, it's an Earth mode. perhaps on Cybertron he had something like a troop transport mode? even Optimus Prime used his trailer to move troops around (like the Dinobots) and seeing the similarities between him and Prime I don't think I'm far off. ;) but yes, having him just drive Autobots around is a bit odd. :D

I have the same problem with the plastic. Not with this toy because I haven't gotten him, yet, but with figures that have come out in the last year. It really feels like the plastic quality of the Transformers figures has really started going down to since the Transformers Prime days.

While for scale I wish this was more voyager size, rather than being the same as Skyfire, though I understand why they would want Magnus a bit larger than Prime, so I can live with it, I love this version of Magnus!! Whether an IDW or even a G1 fan, Honestly? I like this deco better than Takara's with the red thighs. A definite must have if we are lucky enough to get him in my area. Now...all we need is that recently shown Takara deluxe Groove.

Toy Man 1976 it's about an inch or two over CW Megatron, so about an inch taller with the shoulders. He's pretty much head to head with MP10.

I might consider owning the Leader Class Ultra Magnus since I've never owned a Magnus before. I'm also too cheap to buy Masterpiece Magnus. Despite his flaws, Leader Class Magnus might be a welcome addition, if I can find him at a cheap price.
