Honestly I think I'm still not over Derrick's passing. The guy's huge library of work definitely had an influence on me growing up, and especially now. I think this sums it up though, instead of having those toys and items collect dust, they're going out into the world for new and younger fans to get their enjoyment out of them, it's part of his legacy. Not forgetting him anytime soon, design icon.

Yes and no, if I had children or family who enjoyed my collection as much as I do I’d give it to them, but if no one was interested then I’d do what D.J.W. Did and give/sell it to someone who can get as much enjoyment out of them as I once did… that is what Optimus would do imo

I still can't believe Derrick is gone. Sometimes someone passing doesnt really sink in until everyone else is left to pick up thr pieces and go through their stuff and whatnot. I LOVE weird tfa merch. The bumblebee bye bye boo boo thingie and the plush trick or treat pails are hilarious and are definitely the crown jewels. It's also very nice of you to send stuff to Alex; I think Derrick's stuff is in good hands in between you guys and the rest of the fans.

Found a graphic novel stamped "From the Estate of Derrick J Wyatt 1972-2021" while comic digging in Burbank. I was at House of Secrets and digging through the way back area, there were some older type graphic novels and I found "Excalibur: Weird War III" , something I didn't know existed but I have started collecting Excalibur. I take it home and lo and behold, DJW liked Excalibur too. I gotta go check out Blast From the Past. I saw that Leader Animated Megatron, I've definitley been wanting one of them.

I have to give you a huge thank you- I saw your original tweet and hadn't been to Blast From The Past for a few weeks. Now I go basically weekly to see what's new from Derricks collection- so far I've gotten Bulkhead, Ratchet, Wreck Gar, Battle Begins Optimus and Megatron and Deluxe Megatron from the WFC game. Now it's basically part of my Saturdat routine to go visit, looks through the bins and get something of Derricks

I understand where you’re coming from. I’m friends with a handful of people who knew him. I spoke to them for a bit about if was appropriate, or graverobbery to take the trip. I thought about that for a while, which is why I didn’t take the trip until a month+ after they arrived at the store. It wasn’t really a scramble, moreso a bittersweet walk. I think everyone has different lines and boundaries. I can understand the discomfort from it. A family member and many friends of his replied to my Tweets happy that the toys found a new home, which made me feel a bit more comfortable with it. I don’t plan to sell anything I got, just cherish it the way he did. But I understand the concern and the feeling.
