The Tarn mold is an excellent mold to get, and I will definitely be double dipping for this Bludgeon. I do kind of see Hasbro maybe smacking on a new chest piece, painting it silver, gunmetal and purple/red, and making either a Bumblebee movie Megatron (inspired by Monocrat Megatank) or maybe a War Within Megatron. Just spitballing some potential

I like the Tarn mold. I would've preferred a new mold for Bludgeon, but I understand why Hasbro used an existing mold. That said, it does need more samurai bits. So a soft pass for me, unless I see it on clearance in the future.

i think bludgeon is really going to benefit from a third party acessory pack. Some armor skirts, maybe something to go on the shoulder, would go a long way to make him better imo. Wish they had retooled/remolded the double cannons to make some extra armor and give it a different alt mode look.

i have Tarn already. If someone offers this on sale or clearance, I'd get it. It's a good mold, but Bludgeon deserved an original mold. I'm not paying Hasbro full retail for a minor remold/repaint. There's no doubt someone will offer upgrade parts or a kit to make it look more like Bludgeon.

Bludgeon has one of the most terror inspiring aesthetics in The Transformers universe. Imagine a skull-fased quintesson sprouting limbs and stalking you with fervor. I've always liked this guys image and color scheme and will be waiting patiently to add him to my collection.

In my opinion, Tarn is the better usage of the mold. It was a total missed opportunity to do more retooling for Bludgeon. They couldn’t have picked a better mold to use, but the lack of retooling to make him more samurai like was disappointing

I will admit, at first I was extremely disappointed with Bludgeon being a repaint of tarn, but this actually does look pretty good. I'm still holding out hope that we'll get a G1 inspired voyager bludgeon and/or Cyberverse Bludgeon in the coming years, but for now I will 100% be picking this copy up!

as one of the biggest Transformers Generation 2 Comic Book fans ever. Having a Comic accurate Bludgeon is so nice to go along with Jhiaxus, Megatron and the new Skullgrin that just came out. I love this figure, and it's been far too long for one of the coolest Decepticons to finally get a lore accurate figure. This guy was the leader of the Decepticons after Galvatron was defeated. So I'm so happy he finally gets some respect he rightfully deserves. Also, I didn't initially realize this was a Tarn remold until a bit later, so it does do a very good job and hiding the mold. Very good figure. So happy to have it. He looks so cool in my G2 battlefield displays I regularly do.

While many fans wish Bludgeon had gotten his own mold, or more of a remold, I can see why Hasbro went this way. Tarn is a great figure but a somewhat niche character being only from the comics (and one post series Cyberverse special that's an entirely different characterization). This reuses a really good mold as a older but probably more well-known character. He has the undead samurai looking head, he has the katana (which the original toy didn't even have, it was a comics addition to go with the undead samurai look), that's all he really -needs-. Fans get a more G1-like appearance Bludgeon. Hasbro fulfills their desire to be able to reuse a mold in some way. 3P will probably make extra armor bits or such. Everyone gets something. Also with that translucent orange and details painted like plating and framework the combined cannon fusion looks better than it did with Tarn's. While putting the turret on an arm is akin to how the Pretender shell used the tank turret on the original. Though at the end of the day shoulder cannons looks the less awkward. On the side there are also non-Pretender Pretender characters at all sizes now. Iguanus and Bomb-Burst are small guys, Skullgrin is a Deluxe, and Bludgeon is a Voyager, which makes it a nicely diverse subgroup of related characters. It fits that Bludgeon is the big one, as he's often seen as the leader of the group, or of the Mayhem Attack Squad. Now if they'd just do an Octopunch.

I only missing some more orange on the shoulders, hip and crotch. feets could be green to give him more green in tank mode, they could prob ignore green all together and replace the brown with purple/wine red and go for the pretender shell color scheme only and ignore the colors of the inner robot. Dont get me wrong for it looks as nice transformer, but it seem they got abit confused in what colours they should use so they decide to use them all, which this model wasnt really made for and look abit random in both tank or robot mode, they prob should have gone for just one of them and not tried do all modes colour pallet.

I think this figure is great and would be great if you didn’t have the tarn mould or even if you did. My only issue is that the feet are lacking paint and that makes them stand out a lot compared to the rest of the figure

It's a very handsome Bludgeon, definitely! I still think Revenge of the Fallen Bludgeon had the best tank mode, but that had one of the best tank modes of any Transformers.

For robot mode i choose Bludgeon but for tank mode i choose Tarn. It's because both of them are so awesome 🤩! Yeah for my opinion, Transformers character like Optimus Prime such a super great character to faced Bludgeon, nice idea and super fantastic video, PrimevsPrime 🤗.

Definitely agree. The Tarn mold is perfectly suited for Bludgeon in how agile/articulate the figure is. Already got one on preorder, but unfortunate not to see any improvements/changes to the figure despite the obvious head/sword/colors. Other than the mediocre alt mode Tarn I found also had the prone to pop off chest, and on mine really lose knees though everything else was good and tight. This too will be my first Bludgeon as I never had the G1, and never saw the Hunt for Decepticons one which IMO looked near perfect.
